Orca Island Cabins is a remote wilderness resort offering comfortable overnight accommodations in eight private waterfront yurts located 9 miles from Seward, Alaska and at the gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park. Our exclusive, private waterfront retreat is accessible only by boat—your journey begins with a breathtaking, one-hour ride from Seward through the stunning waters of Resurrection Bay. Your stay includes full access to our wide array of watercraft, including sea kayaks, rowboats, stand-up paddleboards (SUP), snorkeling and fishing gear. Our yurts are designed for comfort, and each yurt has a private bathroom, a small kitchen, a comfortable bed with thoughtfully chosen linens and many more features designed to make your stay memorable. Orca Island Cabins was designed as a retreat for those looking to unplug from the everyday and plug into nature.

- FDFiona DretzkaSep 15, 20255.0Orca Island was the perfect way to disconnect and unwind from everyday life. The yurts were very comfortable. The decks are great for watching for wildlife. We kayaked, paddle boarded, snorkeled, hiked and searched in the tide pools for critters. The access to the water is unreal! We also did the wildlife tour with Taylor and had a phenomenal time. We got to see many animals up close and even saw humpback whales! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Can't say enough about Simon and Jonah, the two brothers who took over OIC from their parents, and are great hosts, from driving the boat to the island, to helping launch kayaks and row-boats, to attaching the right lure to our fishing pole. All the staff were incredible. We were a bit concerned about too much "roughing it", but we were pleasantly suprised that the yurts were spacious, with a comfortable queen bed and well-stocked kitchen, hot running water, a gas stove and fire for warmth, and even one electrical outlet for charging phones. The deck had an incredible view. Also, shout out to Taylor, a Marine Biologist who took us for a 3 hour boat tour of the area and all the amazing sea life. Pricey, but once you stay here you can see why. We are recommending it to our friends, and we will be back!
