My fiancé and I recently had the pleasure of celebrating our 8 year anniversary here. We were delighted with excellent service, delicious food, hearty portions. We’ll definitely be returning!

hostess immediately made us feel uncomfortable bc she couldn't find our reservation and despite the restaurant being near empty she just awkwardly looked on her iPad for several minutes, my husband showed her the email and she reluctantly eventually found us (I'm telling you it was weird and awkward and still don't know why)... waitress was great very sweet but then the food! oh god $70 for the steak frites and it was TERRIBLE. neither the steak nor fries had any sort of seasoning however the steak was cooked med rare. unfortunately we didn't have much of a chance to even complain since we didn't see the waitress again until she brought the check... just not what i was expecting. But lesson learned.

I called the morning of 08/01 to make a same-day reservation for a party of 7 to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The gentleman who took my call was incredibly professional — he listened attentively, understood the importance of the occasion, and suggested a table in the banquet room for a more private experience. He even let me know we were welcome to bring our own cake and decor. That level of attentiveness set the tone, and I was immediately impressed with the restaurant and the potential for a memorable evening. However, upon arrival, things took a disappointing turn. I had my wife wait in the car with our son so I could set up the table, only to be informed by the hostess that our reservation had been moved to a high-top table outside of the banquet room. I explained that this wasn’t what I had reserved, and that a high table wouldn’t work due to having children in our party. Instead of attempting to understand or resolve the situation, the hostess was dismissive and made me feel as if my request was unreasonable — despite it being a reservation I had clearly confirmed. Her tone, body language, and general attitude lacked professionalism and created a poor first impression. Additional training in customer service and hospitality is strongly recommended. Thankfully, the service from Catarina, our server, along with the food runners and bussers — especially Abe — turned the experience around. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism were exceptional. They made us feel welcomed, celebrated, and well taken care of. This level of service truly reflects what you’d expect from a restaurant striving to become a local favorite. As for the food — I ordered the ribeye and it was spot-on. Everyone in our group was pleased with their meals; the quality was evident and the flavors delivered. Pricing was also very reasonable for the quality and overall experience. In summary, despite the rocky start, the dining experience was saved by an outstanding service team and quality cuisine. I would return — and I look forward to seeing service excellence reflected across the board on future visits.

I went to Oakhill with a fairly large party on a Sunday. The restaurant was quiet and not too busy with a great atmosphere. The server was very nice and she was funny, but I felt like the service was very hands off. Then I realized why: she was the ONLY wait staff member I could see, which made the delay make complete sense. We arrived at 11, and didn't receive any food until 1pm. The food was expedited poorly with some people getting food 15 minutes before others. Three of us had to return our eggs Benedict because the eggs were overcooked and the hollandaise was just broken oil. I very rarely ever feel this strongly about an experience but after spending over $500 for a rare family brunch, I left with a stomach ache and half my plate unfinished. I want to repeat that the server did everything she could, but I am sad that Oakhill replaced the previous establishment.
