Northstar installed 2 HVAC systems for us 5 years ago. I recently had an inspection by another vendor and was told that Northstar had installed an improper (too small) drip pan to one unit, and had not connected a duct to the actual HVAC unit. I brought this to the attention of Northstar and they agreed that these were mistakes at installation but because I had just noticed the problems after 5 yrs, they charged me a total of $668 to complete the improper installation work. Unbelievable poor quality control and customer service.

We wanted to replace our furnace and our central AC. Shelly came to meet with us on a Saturday. We received our estimate by Tuesday. They were offering 0% interest for 60 months. The other companies were not. We contracted with them to do the work. The process took less than 3 weeks from estimate to completion. Austin and G were very professional and respected us, our dog and our property. We were very pleased with them. We will (and have) recommend them to anyone.

I had a really disappointing experience with this HVAC company. They sent a technician to diagnose an issue with my heating in the spring time, and after two hours he still seemed unsure of what the problem was. In the end, he told me he thinks it might be the thermostat, but replacing it would take another hour plus the cost of whatever thermostats they happened to have in stock. Since my air conditioning was working fine and I wouldn’t need heat for a while, I declined. The technician didn’t seem confident in his assessment, which didn’t inspire much trust.
Despite them not fixing or diagnosing anything, I was hit with a $400 bill. They charge by the hour and the technician even took at least two personal phone calls while on the clock, which made the time (and cost) feel even more frustrating. On top of that, the technician left the wires to my unit a complete mess.
When I called afterward to share my concerns, the woman I spoke with offered very poor customer service. She didn’t seem concerned at all and gave no sense that the company cared about making things right. For the cost and lack of resolution, I can’t recommend them.
