The North Danville Pet Hotel has been in business for 12 years. It was established in 1998 by Sarah Ely. In 2003 I purchased the business. Working with animals has always been my passion. And it’s always been my dream to own my business. As of April 2010 I have been helping the Saint Johnsbury Dog Warden with the strays in the Caledonia area. I take in the dogs for about 10 days. I become a foster mother to them. Then they go to Riverside animal shelter where they are then adopted.

We've been boarding our dogs with Laurie at the North Danville Pet Hotel for 3 years and are happy with the experience. Pick ups and drop offs are always smooth and our dogs seem happy to be there. We appreciate the option of adding baths and nail clippings.

I typically don’t write reviews, but this experience left me so upset that I feel compelled to warn others. I brought my dogs to this daycare thinking they’d be cared for with kindness and professionalism. Unfortunately, what I encountered was the complete opposite. From the moment I interacted with Laurie, it was clear this was going to be a difficult experience. She was rude, dismissive, and spoke to me with an alarming lack of respect. I tried to ask questions about the daily routine and how my dogs would be monitored, and I was met with eye-rolls, sarcasm, and flat-out vulgar responses. It was shocking. But the worst part? I have reason to believe my dogs were not treated well. After just one day, they came home anxious, dirty, and completely unlike themselves. One of them even had a small scratch that Laurie could not explain. When I brought this up, she became hostile and defensive, refusing to take any responsibility. There was no apology, no concern—just more rudeness. Laurie is simply not someone who should be around animals, let alone running a daycare for them. Her lack of professionalism, compassion, and basic decency is beyond troubling. It honestly breaks my heart to think about what may have happened behind closed doors. Laurie, please consider stepping away from this business. If this is how you treat paying customers and their beloved pets, then this is not the right profession for you.

Left my two cats with Laurie for almost a month, and they came back as happy as can be. Will be keeping them with her again, glad they have a home away from home. Thank you, Laurie!

Our shih tsu loves going to visit with Laurie. He gets so excited when he sees his travel bag for when he goes to stay. We are very happy with the care he gets when he is at North Danville Pet Hotel
