  This place is awesome and my brother and I both take our vehicles and our young adult children’s vehicles here. You never have to wait long and he always gives us a straight answer and finds a way to give us a discount! Brakes completed her and will be coming back for other services. Worth it! Easy spot to walk around and grab something to eat while you wait in Oceanside.

  Brakes began grinding so checked for a shop nearby to get the problem diagnosed and corrected. North County Brake Pros (NCBP) was close by and had great reviews, albeit limited (less than 20). Called NCBP midday on Sunday and was able to get an early appointment on Monday. Notified NCBP that that the front disc pads needed to be replaced along with at least one rotor and requested that the rear drum brakes also be checked for wear. NCBP’s recommendation: replace disc pads along with both rotors and one caliper on front, rear drum brakes are fine but recommend cleaning them out for $60, and replace all four wheel bearings. Approved work to be done except for the drum cleaning. Work was done by COB Monday. Visual inspection verified the pads, rotors, and caliper were indeed changed; although not verified, assume wheel bearings were actually replaced also. Final invoice listed 2 hrs. labor @ $100/hr., for $200 total labor. Total charge for parts was $769.65 and the invoice did include part numbers. A price check on the parts listed on the invoice indicates all parts could have been purchased for $329.46. Thus, the price markup for parts on my repair work done by NCBP was $440.19, which equates to 134%. A Google AI search for fair parts price markup for auto work done in California elicited the following response: “In the California auto repair industry, a “fair” parts markup typically ranges from 40% to 60% for common parts…

  I recently went in to get my brakes on a scion xb. Jose answered all of my questions checked my car and was able to get my brakes changed in a timely manner he was honest kind and professional . Would highly recommend working with him. I will definitely be back we need more people like Jose in the world

  Highly recommend. Jose has been taking care of my car for years. He is speedy, thorough, and honest about your car’s condition. Recently got my brakes and rotors redone due to wobbly brakes and the car drives like a dream!
