I am the owner of a 2016 Volvo XC90, I took my vehicle to Nick’s Auto Shop for a water pump issue and for warped rotors. Due to the incompetence of this shop I had to have my water pump replaced three times in four weeks and my brakes rotors had to be replaced after six weeks. I was told the parts were faulty; hmmm, this has never happened with another mechanic I’d been going to!!!!! Volvo uses a diagnostic program called VIDA, when asked if Nick’s Auto Shop uses VIDA the answer was - sometimes! They buy the subscription periodically. So they were unable to diagnose my car to the detail that was necessary. In fact I was told if this problem occurs again that I’d have to go to the dealer for an appropriate diagnosis. In my experience this mechanic’s shop is not capable of working on Volvos even though they tout themselves as Volvo mechanics. In their defense, if there really is any, they did replace the water pump three times and the brake rotors after working on them. I would and will avoid going to this shop as that their work is shoddy and I was told that I was driving incorrectly due to the quick brake failure. I have owned 17 Volvos since 1981, I know how to drive them and take meticulous care of my vehicles. I do not need to be told that I drive my cars too hard! Avoid Nicks Auto Shop at all cost! Unless you want to have to take your car in multiple time for the same repair.

Excellent service, went above my expectations to help me after getting the run around from the dealership. Nick was recommended to me and I am so glad I took my 2022 XC90 vehicle here. Nick spoke with me personally from start to finish. He takes great pride in his business and customer satisfaction, and it definitely shows. I own two Volvos and will only bring them to Nick from now on.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nick's Auto Shop

The salesman at the dealership where I purchased my new car said that if I have you work on my car, it will void my warranty. Is this true?

False! Consumers are entitled to have their cars serviced wherever they choose. Always read your warranty to understand what constitutes a covered service item. As long as detailed records are kept (as we do here for all of our customers) and the service intervals are met with Genuine parts your warranty will never be void.

How often should I have my car serviced?

It varies from model to model, but as a general rule you should change your oil every 5 thousand miles and perform the annual recommended factory scheduled maintenance.
