The option to have them stain unfinished pieces in a range of stain colors is also nice. We did end up with a longer wait for a bench we ordered that was not in stock. The lead time given was 5-8 weeks but it ended up taking slightly longer than 3 months. The wait was frustrating because we were hoping to use the bench sooner. I do not believe it was fully Natural Furniture's fault, just wish they would have communicated with us when the original lead time frame was reaching the upper range instead of us having to follow-up a few times to find out when to expect our bench. They later got in the habit of giving us updates, though, which was appreciated. I would still purchase goods from them, but worth alerting for anything not in stock just in case people are on a specific timeline. This also could have been a fluke.

They have a wide range of pieces, including many made from sustainably sourced parawood (rubberwood). We bought a bench and have been very happy with it. A really nice alternative to the particleboard options from the big box stores.

Lifting Service is a great option if you’re in the Portland area. Delivery starts around $100 for a bookcase or dresser, and they can usually do same-day or next-day, depending on their schedule.
White glove delivery to Seattle is available by our Portland-based friends at Topline Delivery.
How do I make sure the furniture I buy will fit in my house?
Before selecting your new furniture, take a moment to appreciate the room's unique features, windows, closets, vents, outlets, and door swings. Measure the perimeter and sketch a floor plan, including spots for extra pieces like ottomans. For entertainment setups, measure your TV and components to ensure a good fit. Once you've chosen your pieces, make sure they can navigate all entry points by measuring doorways, elevators, and staircases.
How long does it take to get my furniture from Natural Furniture?
We strive to keep many items in stock, though we can't have everything listed on our site available at all times. Timelines vary by manufacturer, depending on their product cycle. What is "real wood" furniture?
Real Wood Furniture means top-notch quality crafted from genuine wood—never any particle board or MDF. Our manufacturers use solid wood for face frames, drawers, and posts, with some also featuring solid wood tops and concealed adjustable hinges on the doors.
What are the advantages of real wood?
Real wood furniture is built to last, often outlasting synthetic materials. It's easy to touch up small nicks and scratches, and you can change its color down the road. Whether refreshing a piece after the kids have grown or repurposing it for a new space, real wood can be worked on time and time again.
What types of wood do you sell?
We work with many manufacturers crafting furniture from a variety of hardwoods and select softwoods. Some of the species we offer include Acacia, Alder, Birch, Cherry, Hickory, Mango, Maple, Oak, Parawood, Radiata Pine, and Sheesham. Each wood has its own unique grain and staining characteristics.
Are all your products made in the USA?
We offer a wide range of products made in the United States and abroad. If you're unsure where a specific item is made, please email us or contact us with the item name and SKU number.
Are your products Prop 65 compliant?
Yes, all our products adhere to Proposition 65 standards. However, if you have severe allergies or sensitivities, we advise against purchasing any wood products. Many wood items may contain latex and/or formaldehyde-based glue to maintain adhesive properties, which could trigger allergies in some individuals.
What kind of stain do you sell and use for finishing?
We proudly offer Penofin Verde oil stains—a 0-VOC, 100% sustainable, petroleum-free stain perfect for your unfinished furniture. Penofin Verde is eco-friendly, odorless, and fume-free, making it safe for your home. With easy soap and water cleanup and up to 99% UV protection, it ensures your furniture stays beautiful and durable.
How do I apply Penofin Verde stain myself?
Coat each part of the piece you want to be stained with the stain and let it sit wet for about 15 minutes. Then wipe it all off with cotton rags. Make sure to put the rags in a plastic bag with some water and tie them off before throwing the bag away. It is an oil-based stain, so there is a chance for combustion.
After about two days, when the piece is dry, use 0000 super fine steel wool or 400 grit sandpaper to go over the surfaces that you stained. Apply a second coat, let it sit for 10 minutes, and again wipe it off with cotton rags. Dispose of the rags in a plastic bag with some water. After a few days of drying, your furniture should be ready for use.
Note: If you are finishing something with drawers, like a chest or dresser, there is no need to apply stain to the drawer boxes. This would keep the smell of the stain in for a long time and cause your clothes to smell as well.
How should I care for my wood furniture?
Avoid using nail polish remover or acetone near your finished wood products to prevent severe damage. Instead, clean with a damp cloth, avoiding dry dusting to prevent pushing dirt into the surface. Opt for gentle cleaners like Howard Orange Oil or Method Daily Wood Cleaner, steering clear of silicone, wax solvents, or abrasives. Never use alcohol, as it can also harm the finish. Place your furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent alterations to the finish or wood. Maintain humidity levels between 35 and 45 percent to prevent drying out or warping. Regularly remove dust to prevent dullness and scratching, and promptly wipe up spills to avoid damage.
