What a wonderful experience. Firstly, the place is absolutely immaculate. Secondly, the service during the two times we visited was very nice. And, thirdly, and most importantly, the food is exquisite. We had tandoori basa fish, a crispy prawn appetizer, garlic naan, spiced chai, palak paneer, lamb korma, veggie samosas, and a few other dishes less memorable but also delicious. We didn’t taste anything we didn’t exclaim over. Highly, highly recommended.

This morning’s experience at Mumbai Masala Grill was nothing short of amazing. The fact that the restaurant is open and welcoming at this hour is already a blessing, but what truly stood out was the food.
Every bite felt like home — almost as if I had just stepped out of my mother’s kitchen on a cozy winter weekend. The flavors were authentic, rich, and cooked with the kind of warmth you don’t usually find outside home.
The availability, the quality, and most importantly, the taste — all exceeded expectations. A hidden gem that I would highly recommend to anyone craving comfort food with a homely touch.

We stopped by Mumbai Masala Grill looking for something light before a long day of travel, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, Soni welcomed us with such warmth that it felt more like visiting an old friend than dining at a restaurant. The food itself was fresh, simple, and wonderfully homely—exactly the kind of meal you’d crave when away from home. What truly set the experience apart, though, was the care and genuine hospitality Soni showed throughout our visit. Every detail made us feel comfortable and valued. Without a doubt, every time I return to Ottawa, a visit here will be at the top of my list—mainly because of Soni.
