In September 2024, we adopted a pup and named her Marley, who turned out to be incredibly sweet and remarkably intelligent. We found her while scrolling through their website and immediately submitted an application online, then called to make sure we could stop by to meet her. The facility was the cleanest I’ve ever seen at a humane society—there wasn’t even a hint of animal odor. We were led to a room where we could hold her, and we instantly fell in love. Her first birthday was this past July (we even had her exact date of birth). The only downside was that she had two types of parasites, and we paid quite a pretty penny to have them eradicated from her system. We’d adopt from them again.

Great place to find your new furry family member. I love that they offer a "foster field trip" program where you can take a pet home for a few days before fully committing. And we've fostered a few dogs with their Adoption Ambassador program and adopted one. This is the best and most affordable way to get a new pet that comes vaccinated, fixed, and chipped. All they need is a family.

Terrible service and staff. Called multiple and many times to reach the animal control dispatch to report a case of neglect, to no avail. They want people to adopt but don't want to do the rescue part. I will be in touch with the BBB as well as the sheriff's department since no one at the shelter seems to care.

This humane society is a joke, they will not answer a simple telephone call; therefore. likely do not care when cats are neglected just pathetic how our tax dollars are spent.

Intake department is terrible. They make you feel horrible for surrendering your animal. We got our dog from here 3 years ago. Since then we’ve had a little boy. Our dog is showing signs of aggression towards him and has bitten him more than once. We’ve paid hundreds of dollars in training lessons and not to mention a couple thousand in surgeries. We feel like we need to do our part for our community, so we will only adopt. Our plan was to surrender her and look at adopting a second cat to again do our part. Considering how rude they were, we’ll adopt from a different shelter. Attitudes like that are contributing factors to people leaving them on the side of the road. We also feel obligated to make a larger donation when we surrender because we’re aware of what that’s doing to the shelter. Wetumpka will get that donation now.
