This is where George A Romeroâs âDawn of the Deadâ was filmed. The Living Dead Museum is located inside. Very nice mall! I was surprised to hear itâs closing soon.

Still one of the nicest malls I've been to. The only one in the area that rivals it is the Westmoreland Mall, but that mall didn't have the original Dawn of the Dead filmed in it either đ In all seriousness, this is still a great mall, and its a damn shame they're looking at tearing down a piece of history. If you have a chance, go check out the George Romero Museum!!!! They have TONS of movie used props and set pieces, and from more than just Romero's work as well! The museum is a self guided tour for $8 and worth EVERY penny! Seriously, if you haven't tried it, you definitely should! The mall is well organized and has a good variety of shops. Did some Christmas shopping while we were here. Would be nice of there were more food options in the food court if I'm honest. Will keep coming back until they let Walmart tear it down I guess...

I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE MALL BEFORE, BUT I AM POSTING THIS TO WARN EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! THIS MALL MAY BE SLATED FOR DEMOLITION SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE HAVE LOST MANY OF OUR INDOOR SHOPPING MALLS IN RECENT DECADES, AND SOME OF THEM WERE VERY NOSTALGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THOSE WHO LIVE CLOSE TO THE AREA WHERE THIS IS LOCATED, OPPOSE THE PROPOSED DEMOLITION OF THIS MALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never been in the Monroeville Mall but from the many pictures ive seen of it from other people i gotta give the owner a lot of credit for keeping such a big place spotless , it's a BIG shame that in the very near future it's going to meet it's death bed because the crummy Walmart company bought the mall and are going to demolish it most likely to build another supercenter on the land or build a warehouse that feeds the numerous other stores in the Pittsburgh area or it will serve as an online order warehouse and all the tenants currently in the mall are going to be thrown out with nowhere to go but to close their businesses.
ATTENTION MALLGOERS: get to that place and take in the sights and make final memories of the mall because you're not gonna have your mall in the near future because of the Walmart Corporation.
