MÓGŪ (Chinese 蘑菇) means mushroom. It is a symbol of good luck, longevity, and health. It also stands for a traditional painting technique (沒骨畫) where there are no boundaries or solid lines … much like us.

I’m just gonna be honest and say the only acceptable dish here is the Emperor’s chicken. Everything else definitely tasted subpar annd lacked any kind of flavor comparing to your local Chinese take out down the road .. wont not be coming back. I woke up in the morning with stomach pains and that was this was the last food I ate and I’m just gonna leave it at that.

9/21/2025: First time trying this place. A heathy twist on Chinese food. Overall, good tasting food made to order at a modern designed restaurant. Shaleen (cashier) and Freddy (manager) were very courteous, helpful, and friendly. I appreciate that they both walked around and asked other customers and me if we needed anything and how was our food :) This place opened in August 2024. I liked this place a lot better than Panda Express. I ordered the following: 1) Appetizer-Very Good-Steamed Szechuan Chili Dumplings (pork) $10.95 Great flavor and a good amount of spice. I loved the crushed peanuts on top 2a) Main Entree-Very Good-Emperor Tso’s Chicken (all white meat and no nasty chicken pieces) $13.45 I really liked the flavor and the serving size. I ate half of it and finished the leftovers the next day 2b) Main Entree’s starch-Not Good-Vegetable (“Not-so” [meaning air fried]) Fried Rice $1.50 *Better off sticking with white rice and not paying extra for this* 3) Dessert-Not Good-Strawberry M?CHI $4.95 I can’t recommend getting this here. Had better and fresher Mochi from Hawaii and California. 4) Drink-Good-Just Ice Tea Prach Oolong Tea (16 oz) $3.25 *They do offer a military discount * Total with tax and discount $33.39 I dropped the rating down a star as the Not-so fried rice was not what I was expecting; I definitely am more fond of the traditional fried rice. Also, the Mochi was so-so.

Unforgettable Service at MÓGŪ! I had the pleasure of dining at MÓGŪ Modern Chinese Kitchen, and the experience was elevated by two incredible servers—Damon and Freddy. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. Their attentiveness, warmth, and professionalism were unmatched. Damon anticipated every need with grace, while Freddy’s upbeat energy and thoughtful recommendations made the meal even more enjoyable. It’s rare to find service that feels both personal and polished, but these two nailed it. MÓGŪ is lucky to have them, and I’ll definitely be coming back—not just for the delicious food, but for the kind of hospitality that Damon and Freddy deliver effortlessly. Highly recommend this spot if you want great food and even better people!
