Shocked by how good this was, because the atmosphere isn’t perfect. The food is OUTSTANDING. The service is great. Do not leave without ordering the hungry baked potato. Fried pickle - best I’ve had. Chicken - moist. Jalapeño sausage - spicy. Bartender can make a solid margarita. Not kidding- the food was so good, I asked my husband if he was friends with the chef! (We aren’t, yet)

I needed a lunch before doing a tour and this place was perfect. My first lunch in Texas and I was so thrilled with the food and experience. Super helpful staff being there counter - for us tourist with strange English 😎. Food options were great. The brisket sandwich and chips (aka crisps) was scrumbo! That’s really good. Recommended to any and all.

I hate posting negative reviews but the number of positive reviews is misleading (and what brought me here). This was amongst the worst BBQ I’ve had (and I am from New England…not known for good BBQ). As far as service, not sure where “family” fits in…you can get better service at a fast food franchise. I was asked to step aside while i figured out what i wanted because the cashier was being monitored on video (not because there was a line…no one else was there). Very disappointed.

As far as Texas BBQ goes, this place is not it. The brisket was moist but very fatty and bland. The jalapeno sausage was very good. Turkey was bland. The mashed potatoes were bland, no gravy, nothing. Literally just a mashed potato. Cornbread was cake, not actual cornbread. The Mac n cheese was very good but it would've tasted a lot better if I didn't have to go up to the counter near the end of my meal and ask for it, and they didn't believe that I paid for it so I had to wait for them to look up my ticket and verify that I did indeed, pay for an extra side. Much better BBQ in the Dallas area that I would go to before I came back here.

I'd give it 3.7 if I could. The brisket and turkey were decent to good but not amazing. Make your way over to Hurtados instead if you can. The sides were alright. The food took a long time to get to the table especially for a BBQ joint which is odd and concerning. They were also disorganized distributing food, the TV remote didn't work to change the game, the drink fountain was out of ice and the cashier charged me extra for something I didn't want. Mind you, it wasn't very busy. The manager was trying to make the best of it and was pleasant.
