  I wouldn't recommend minute key for automobile key replacements. I thought this would be cheaper and more time efficient than dropping the car off with the dealer. I went to the kiosk inside Lowe's and entered my details. The cost of 2 car keys was $400 dollars. The machine can't do automobile keys, so you pay and they state they will call you in 1 business day to schedule key delivery and automobile programming. I wondered why I needed to go to the kiosk to begin with vs just ordering online, but that wasn't an option. As promised, I got a call the next day requesting photos of my keys. I wasn't with the car so I had to call them back. After calling back and waiting on hold I sent the photos but was told there were questions about my key type they needed to submit a question to tech support. They told me they would call me back but didn't. Long story short, a week went by, I called at least 4 times waiting on hold each time and I still was not able to secure an appointment or a key. I cancelled the order. I went to a local locksmith who advertised they could do 2 keys and programming for $250. $150 cheaper and they did it on the spot. No waiting. Lesson learned, skip minute key and find a local locksmith who does automobile keys.

  Three stars since I was eventually able to get my key… however it too several attempts and the representative at Lowe’s didn’t appear to know how to operate the machine.
