- JTJeromy TMar 12, 20245.0I've seen the kiosk at Walmart for a long time, but never seen anyone using them. A friend used one like it somewhere and said it used lasers and who doesn't love lasers. Even cats love lasers. I was leaving Wal-Mart and saw someone using it and asked them if they had any luck with this machine, they said they had never used it before. I had been to 4 hardware stores and struck out. The keys didn't fit. Close, but no cigar. I decided lasers couldn't be wrong and I was right. I got 2 keys and they both fit perfectly. They were a little more expensive than the hardware store, I think I paid $8ish for 2. I got a forever key that was $6 and the basic key was $4. Then you could get a buy 2 get 1 free, but I only got 1. Then it gave me an option to buy another regular key for under $2. It was a little rough from cutting and I took a small file to it, but it still worked before I did that. I would deduct a star for the cost, but it beat going back to the hardware store over and over. They didn't make car keys, just locks and padlocks.
