They were quick and kind about a refund, so no problems. I believe the digital backup only lives on the machine you used to copy your key. I guess this is for security, but I wouldn't worry about a central backup system either, with property security built in. I can see a cool feature where my familiy member or tenant needs a key, but I'm far away. I go to a machine, make a digital backup of my key, and share it to my person, to be printed in another city. That would be neat.
