The reason my review didn't get 5 stars across the board is due to theft by the employee/waitress at the Millennium inside of the hotel. While waiting 30 minutes for my suite to be ready for check-in I decided to get a cappuccino and a bite to eat in the café area named Millennium. After I got up to my room I see the alert on my phone for the $43 charge for what I ordered in the cafe Millennium. THEN a minute later I see an additional $100 charged onto my card from the Millennium! Someone decided to tip themselves an extra UNAUTHORIZED $100!!!! THEN IF THAT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH THE NEXT DAY THEY CHARGED MY CARD AGAIN FOR $50!!!! I WAS 60 MILES AWAY WHEN I WAS CHARGED, SO WHOMEVER CHARGED MY CARD ON 10/26 IS GUILTY OF BOTH THEFTS! So management you need to check the cameras closely. Just after check in time is when the first theft happened, around an hour after check out time the second theft happened.
THIS IS STRAIGHT UP THEFT!!!!! All of this occurred on 10/25 and on 10/26. First theft of $100 was on 10/25 on my chase visa credit card (in my name), and the second theft of $50 (AN HOUR AFTER I WAS CHECKED OUT OF THE HOTEL) was on 10/26 on the same credit card.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION!
This was the first time I've ever stayed at the Biltmore, and I can't say that I'll EVER stay there again (and my new position with Sony plans to bring me into LA once or twice a month, so I was hoping the Biltmore would be where I'd be telling HR to create a standard booking with you), which is a shame, because the hotel staff's treated me so wonderfully, and the hotel itself is quite beautiful - but a theft like this makes me rethink my whole opinion of your establishment.
Surprisingly very disappointed with this hotel.
From the state of the room to the services.
We arrived on a Saturday 9pm and couldn’t park our car. There was an employee there who told us self parking is closed.
We had to use valet park but in very rude way.
That didn’t start well.
When we checked in to find out there were weddings there that nite so those guests used all the available parking.
We were forced to pay $70 for parking with no apologies whatsoever.
The front desk agent (Asian guy) was not friendly neither.
Then we went to the room to find out the room was not in good condition.
The light bulbs in the rooms are different colors. The beds were supported with some kind of wood under the mattress. It was so ghetto for a fancy hotel like this.
Unfortunately it didn’t end there. The sink in the bathroom was cracked, the hot water came and go and didn’t stable.
If we have known the hotel is this high end but with such a bad condition, we wouldn’t book it.
The next days we found out the hotel used 5 floors just to reserve for valet parking.
They literally forcing guests to pay extra to use the valet services .
Overall we wanted to have a great experience in Los Angeles Biltmore but ended super disappointing.
Sorry but definitely your hotel won’t be on my list in the future trip to LA.
I don’t ever write reviews especially bad ones since the service/hotel industry is tough, but this the worst experience I have had at a hotel. We stayed there from 10/16-10/18 for a wedding. At check in they gave us the wrong room, we reserved a king and they gave us a double, we let that go. That same night we come to find out some one got access and checked into our room without us being there. it was a relative of ours so that’s how we found out, they mentioned our room number and how they freaked out when they got that all this luggage was in there already (they also messed up their checking) To top it off our keys no longer worked once we tried to get back in our room. So when we went to the front desk and asked the manager what is happening, he was extremely rude and accusing us of why we had that room and how we had access? Hell, I don’t know your staff checked in and gave us the room! To top it all off we had to get my credit card on file again. Turns out once the charges went through I was booked for two rooms and charged $100 extra as well as a charge for a no show fee for my partner who was there when we checked in! Again I tried to be understanding and I called several days ago to get it sorted and Baktiar the manager assured me it would all be sorted out and would call me. I had to call back again because nothing has been done. At this point my patience has run out and the wedding experience was ruined by such an unprofessional and uncoordinated staff. I am hoping they see this and are able to get this corrected since calling them gets me nowhere.
The hotel has such a charming old Hollywood vibe — you can really feel the history in the décor and ambiance. It has that classic posh glam look, but it’s definitely showing its age and could use some updates. With the right management team, this place could really shine again and appeal to today’s crowd while keeping its vintage charm.
It would be nice if the restaurant or any restaurant was open for lunch and dinner, and the 10th-floor access didn’t quite live up to what the brochure promised. The food was fresh and tasted good, but the same options every day got a little repetitive. There were no frosty mugs or any mugs for the beer and sipping from a bottle had the beer warm in a few minutes.
Our 10th-floor room was small, and the bathroom really needs some repair work — things like the tile and tub could easily be fixed without losing the old style. (I’ve even seen great fixes on HGTV!) We also had trouble getting hot water for two days, and while maintenance eventually came, they accidentally left our door open while we were out, which wasn’t great.
Overall, it was a fun stay in a historic hotel with a lot of potential, but with some updates and attention to detail, it could be a truly amazing spot again.
Hotel is super nice architecture wise but everything else is lacking. I bought through american forces travel and purchased a king club with lounge access, was under the impression I would get lounge access but was denied access upon arrival. I booked my room about 200 days in advance for the sleep token concert, payed almost 700 dollars for a Friday to Sunday stay and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the hotel. I've been in motel 6s with nicer rooms. I didn't purchase the room with the added continental breakfast because I was under the impression that I would have club access which served food all day. I payed 90 dollars for a mediocre continental breakfast for 2 people as a result, food was decent but no where near what they priced it at. They had the run of the mill pancakes, cereal bar, pastries, fruit/yogurt, bacon, and sausage. The AC in our room also did not work, it was set for 65 degrees but thr room didn't go below 78 degrees all weekend. We tried putting the fan on and off of auto and nothing worked. When I had gone downstairs to the lobby to bring up not having access to the club I was told that no where does it indicate I have club access even though the room I bought was called club king with lounge access, apparently that is just the name of the room. I was told that its and additional 44ish dollars a night to have access to the lounge but there was no option for that when I purchased the room, the website I went through listed what came with the room and clearly said executive club access. I dont see the point in paying almost 100 bucks extra per night for a club room and then paying an additional fee to access the club when I could've bought a cheaper king suite that was way bigger than our room. The room itself was very small, the bathroom is definitely a single person in there at a time one. The grout in the bathroom was dirty, the mirror had random pieces broken off thr frame and the other one had weird streaks where it looked like it got messed up during installation. They dont even provide shampoo and conditioner separate, its a crappy 2 in 1 mix that left my hair and skin feeling the same way and a rubber shoe on waxed floor, squeaky and almost sticky. All things I would expect from a cheap hotel that dont really bother me but not when I spend almost 700 dollars for a nice hotel. Go to the Marriott right across the street, its cheaper and way nicer than the biltmore. Only reason im nkt rating it lower is because the downstairs is very beautiful and the hotel smells very nice but those were literally the only upsides to staying. The whole reason I chose the biltmore was for the club so we could have somewhere to hangout other than the room and not have to walk around DTLA when we got bored, had I known I would've had to pay extra for the club access even though I had a club room I would've gladly paid it, I booked it 200 days in advance and was extremely excited for the hotel stay and left extremely disappointed. 0/10 would not recommend wasting your money here, stay literally anywhere else.
