The reception area is clean and cheerful. The receptionist greeted us immediately and knowledgeable. Within a few minutes our 16 yr old Zoey was taken back for her nail trim and returned to us. She did not appear to be stressed from her treatment. The charge for this service was reasonable and we were on our way within the hour. I definitely will bring Zoey back for further treatments.

I was able to get a same-day appointment with Dr. Thomas for my dog. He explained that my dog was experiencing allergy problems and she was given a shot for the inflammation and itching. She felt better that night and is so much better the day after the shot. He explained why she needs to be on allergy medicine and I'm so glad my dog was able to be seen right away and is on her way to feeling like her self again!

I switched over to Midtown Veterinary Clinic a few years ago when my local vet changed ownership. I've always had a pleasant experience as the staff are always helpful.
Dr. Thomas has always been great whenever I have issues with my pets. My first major issue was when my dog was having stability issues with her back legs. He gave an examination and provided options which ended with a referral to another vet for an MRI. Long story short, my dog had major back surgery for IVDD and she's back to running around.
My most recent visit was because I thought my dog's tooth was broken/bleeding so I tried to schedule an extraction. Dr. Thomas gave an inspection and found that it was just the gum and only suggested blood work since my dog is a senior and it had been awhile. No up-sell or unnecessary procedures.

My Oliver got stung by a bee at the park. He started throwing up and collapsed. I didn’t know what was wrong with him. I had never been to the clinic. I took him there immediately and they saw him right away and knew exactly what was wrong with him. They gave him shots and within a day he was better. Thank you so much!
Frequently Asked Questions About Midtown Veterinary Clinic
How often will my pet need to be vaccinated?
Following the initial puppy or kitten vaccinations, the frequency of subsequent vaccinations varies. Some vaccines provide effective immunity for several years, while others require more frequent administration to maintain protective levels. Our veterinarians at Midtown Veterinary Clinic can develop a customized vaccination schedule tailored to your pet's specific needs.
Can my pet be spayed while she is in heat?
While it is possible to spay a pet during her heat cycle, it is important to note that the procedure may involve increased risks and potentially higher costs due to enhanced bleeding. At Midtown Veterinary Clinic, we generally advise scheduling the spaying procedure prior to your pet's first heat cycle for optimal safety and effectiveness.
What are normal body temperatures for dogs and cats?
The average body temperature for dogs and cats is approximately 101.5 degrees Fahrenheit. A range between 100.5 and 102 degrees Fahrenheit is typically considered normal. When checking your pet's temperature, always use a properly lubricated rectal thermometer for accurate results.
