Hadley Contracting has worked with Marcio on 2 projects now and we couldn't be happier. Metrowest provided us with great samples, the estimating was quick and the workmanship was excellent. Marcio followed up with us to make sure the C'top installation came out exactly the way we liked. We are happy to have Metrowest as a primary C'top sub-contractor.

I have used Metrowest Granite for both of the kitchens in my 2-family home. They did such an amazing job on the first kitchen, that I called them back for my second kitchen a few months later. The team was professional, clean, and respectful. Communication was excellent; updating me on status of materials, scheduling of install, and estimated arrival time on the day of the installation. For my second kitchen, I texted on a Tuesday when I was ready for a quote and measuring. Marcio came out a few hours later, and took measurements. He was ready for install the following week, since the material I wanted was in stock. Amazing service.
Frequently Asked Questions About Metrowest Granite Countertop
What is the average cost of quartz, granite or marble countertops?
All materials: marble, granite, and quartz have a range of price points. Traditionally marble tends to be the most expensive. Granite and quartz are similarly priced, again with a wide range from entry level price points to more exotic stones which carry a higher price point. Understanding our clients style and budget can help to tailor the right stone for each project.
Should I use marble or granite for my kitchen countertop?
Although typical application of marble is for the bathroom vanity tops, jacuzzi tops and fireplaces, it is possible to use it in the kitchen. However, due to the fact that it is easy to scratch and is affected by acidic substances, such as vinegars, ketchups etc., we don’t usually recommend it. Moreover the high-gloss of the marble countertop can be partially lost as many chemicals etch its surface. Granite in turn is considered the second hardest stone, its polish is not subject to etching by household acids, or scratching by knives and pots and pans under normal use. It is also not affected by typical kitchen heat such as hot pans.
Can I cut on my granite countertop?
Only if you want to ruin your good knives. Granite is harder than your knife blades and will dull them very quickly, if you use the countertop as a cutting surface. Always cut and chop on a wooden or plastic cutting board.
Can my granite countertop be damaged?
Like any solid surface, high impact blows can harm granite. Because of its crystalline structure, it can chip if subjected to hard blows with sharp hard objects. You should not stand or sit on your granite countertop. Unsealed, granite can absorb stains such as oil, which can ultimately cause dark spots or discoloration. Heat from pots and pans or burning liquids will not affect granite under normal circumstances. If you have a stain in your top contact your stone supplier, they can help you remove the stain by supplying you with a poultice that you can apply to the top to remove the stain.
Can my countertop fade?
Because engineered stone is treated with resin, quartz is more susceptible to discoloration over time with direct sunlight. This is something to consider if all or part of your surface will be in direct sunlight. There have been no issues with natural stone (such as granite, marble, and quartzite) fading in direct sunlight over time.
How long will it take to have my granite countertop installed?
Typically, there is a 2-3 week turnaround time from measure to install.
What are basic granite care and cleaning tips?
All granites are porous; what typically harms the finish on granite are the harsh chemicals contained in soap, shampoo, perfume, and cosmetics, the minerals in hard water, household cleaning agents which are highly acidic or alkaline in nature; all foods and beverages are not neutral when measured on the PH scale, many of which contain citric acid as a preservative.
The easiest way your stone looking amazing is avoid any bad habits that may damage it. Granite, marble, travertine, limestone, soapstone, quartz and solid surface are similar in many ways, but their differences require varying degrees of maintenance.
If you utilize the granite counter top care and cleaning procedures that follow for all your countertops no matter what type of stone or surface you’ll eliminate most potential problems without ever having to think too hard about it or worry that you may be causing damage.
What are the most popular countertop colors?
While most kitchen designs revolve around neutral color schemes, choosing a bold countertop color is an easy way to add some focus and fun into your space. We offer many colors at AA Granite Fabricator Direct, take a look here to get inspiration for your kitchen and bathroom remodel.
What are the pros and cons of quartz countertops?
Quartz is one of the most popular kitchen countertop materials in the United States. In a recent study using residential households kitchen countertops, 40% of homeowners used engineered quartz. The market share is second only to granite countertops (41%).
What is a good thickness for granite countertops?
The industry standard for granite countertop thickness is typically around 3 centimeters for a granite kitchen island and 2 centimeters for bathroom granite and marble vanity tops. Thicker, 2-inch granite slabs have grown in popularity for interior design projects but do not add any significant structural advantages. Thicker slabs are more expensive.
