I called Merrill’s Auctions and Appraiser because I believed they were knowledgeable, and accommodating. I brought in my authentic hand woven oriental. The man from the introduction did not want to provide service. Perhaps I was disturbing his early morning, coffee. Then to make it worse, he flat out, lied about the rug and said it was a 1960 machine made rug,he was very rude. I would not recommend this place.

Just bought a couple of lots from Merrill's - they processed quickly, got it to the shipper on Monday (it was a Saturday auction), and they were in my hands by Friday. They responded promptly to my emails. They use a very good shipper, who was careful in packing many tiny items. A great transaction all around!!

Very sad to have had the experience with this company that I did. Dropped off an item for auction in October after an employee opened the box and said "this is definitely not garage sale material." I was told it would go into auction in November. Called back before Christmas and was told it had not gone in yet. Reached out to them again in March and received a call back that they had just opened it and found things broken and would I please pick it up. During a follow up phone call I was told that it is normal for all auction companies in the country to store goods for long periods of time without looking at the item's condition. I also have no proof that it wasn't broken while in storage there.
