About

Ambulance Service
For over a decade Nick Melehov and Greg Melehov know that one thing has guided MedStar Ambulance: every patient deserves to be treated as if they were a member of our family. Everyone who works at MedStar has a deeply-felt compassion for the patient – their care and comfort always come first. As a family owned and operated business, Nicholas Melehov and Gregory Melehov have never lost sight of their original mission statement, “to provide the highest quality care to the communities, facilities, and patients whom we serve.” For some companies, that kind of statement may just be a lofty sentiment. For us, it is the very core of our business and how we manage it.

I am compelled to write this review about the incredible MedStar "Angels" that came to my home, not once but numerous times and a couple of times-twice in one day. Their EXEMPLARY CARING COMPASSION and PROFESSIONAL MANNER in which they handled these numerous horrific events was beyond description. Had it not been for Erica, Anastasia, Monica, Jerial, Skylar (names I remembered and apologize for any I missed as it was very traumatic) I would NOT have made it through these most horrific times. ETERNALLY THANKFUL FOR YOU.

In my previous review, I neglected to praise Shelby Mitchell, only because I didn’t know her name. She, too, was efficient and professional. I wish to compliment her as well.

While inpatient at a rehab facility recovering from a stroke I was transported to a Neurologists appointment via medstar ems. Because I was inpatient I had no say in my means of transportation. After arriving at my appointment I was wheeled in on the stretcher into the doctor's office and left strapped into the stretcher for the entire visit. I am now on the hook for over $4k because my insurance won't cover non emergency rides and, because the state of MA doesn't regulate the rates they can charge whatever they want. So I am being charged $3,000 just to "step foot" on the ambulance plus $100 per mile. I owe over $4,000 for a 30 minute ride and to be left in a stretcher because my options were take the ambulance or cancel my appointment.
