  Our daughter joined Maryland Twisters 2 years ago and it has been the best decision we have ever made. Cheer is at the core of our daughter’s overall health and well-being. She is excelling academically because cheerleading is teaching her about time-management and persistence. It is also keeping her balanced and grounded. Her MDT coaches have challenged her physically and mentally during the past two seasons, and our daughter is stronger for it. At MDT, the coaches take the time to understand how each athlete learns. They set higher expectations to develop them as individuals through work ethic, integrity and teamwork. Their personal investment, support and extra efforts towards the athletes, do not go unnoticed. They also know how to have FUN! We have made timeless memories and laughed A LOT! This is the first time we have been part of a gym like this were its not just about developing cheerleading skills, its about developing the individual for what lays ahead. For that, we will be forever grateful. We are proud members of the Maryland Twisters Family!

  I have two daughters who are going into their fourth year cheering for Maryland Twisters (one on F5 and one on Eye of the Storm). We love it here! Even though we live almost 90 minutes away (DE), Twisters is our second home because that is our choice (we have other options). Some of my favorite things about Maryland Twisters: Opportunity to train with some of the best coaches in the country - Twisters coaches AND guest coaches from other gyms Level of competition/proper team placement for each of my athletes Variety of classes Availability of instructors for private lessons (tumbling, stunting, etc.) Twisters' coaches are supportive of athletes' goals, whether it's as a brand athlete or college-bound athlete I love how Twister athletes are given the chance to work with the special needs teams. Twister athletes are given an opportunity to run classes to help offset their monthly tuition. Twister teams support one another and sister gyms/teams. Great communication with gym families Fun open gyms on Friday nights I mean, Ryan Mitchell's Facebook Live videos, need I say more? #GetHype NOW, because I believe in this program, I am inclined to defend it ... In reading some of the negative reviews, I don't understand why concerns are voiced here and not directed to the source. Anyone who has been in organized sports should know that where there is a love and passion for something, emotions can overtake you. All star cheer is no different. Yes, sometimes coaches yell (the fact that multiple teams practice every night and there is usually loud music in the background COULD have something to do with it, lol). Listen, I am the first one to address negativity, but I also understand that sometimes all it takes is a change in tone to get someone's attention. But, hey, I'm a mom and I've been known to yell a time ... or ten ... so I get it. :) I say leave the coaching to the experts. #GetTwisted #BlackandBlueCrew #EyeOfTheStorm #F5OrDie

  it's my first year there & being on level 5 team which is supercells. i really enjoy it ! the coaches are extremely nice & tumbling coaches push you to be better.

  I signed up my daughter for an hour class for fun, not competition. After 2 classes, the teacher was sarcasticly rude to the girls about not knowing the moves. Other girls in the class shared similar stories about how the teacher was rude/mean to them as well. The teacher said if she didnt get herself together, that he would go to tryouts and tell everyone that she makes a fool of herself and essentially sabatage her. My main concern is that this teacher was extremely immature and unprofessional and I dont believe he should be working with kids.
