Visited the new Maman on Biscayne this week and was very disappointed. I've been to the one on Miami Beach many times and its consistently great. I ordered what I always order - cappuccino and an avocado smash. The cappuccino came luke warm and the avocado smash hardly up to par. The bread wasn't even warm, let alone toasted, and there was a very thin layer of avocado - hardly what I would call a smash It also wasn't a very large slice of bread. I would think there would be better quality control, especially when first opening.

I absolutely loved my visit to Maman! The place is so charming and beautifully designed — cozy, stylish, and filled with the aroma of freshly baked pastries. The hospitality was wonderful; everyone was kind, attentive, and made me feel genuinely welcome. The food was delicious — everything tasted homemade and thoughtfully prepared. The pastries were exceptional — buttery, flaky, and perfectly balanced. It’s the kind of café where you can relax, enjoy your coffee slowly, and just feel happy to be there. ☕️💐 Maman is truly a little gem — perfect for breakfast, brunch, or just a sweet escape during the day. I can’t wait to go back! 🌸✨

Omg, so maman just opened a brickell location and I totally love it, so I figured I should go check out their other locations too! It was my first time at this location, and I’ve always gotten a pastry and some coffee, but shoutout to Will for his lovely service and for putting me on to the papa’s breakfast bowl! I am totally obsessed with it and will be ordering it at all the locations I visit to see who does it best :) thank you Will for being so helpful and sweet! Had a wonderful experience here :)

I was genuinely excited to try Maman Edgewater after hearing about their recent opening. Unfortunately, both of my visits were disappointing — not because of the food, but because of the service and guest experience. Saturday, October 4th: I arrived eager to give them a try. Upon entering, I greeted a group of about five employees near the prep area and walked to the counter to look at the menu. A woman greeted me, and when I asked if I should order at the counter or sit down, she told me I could do either — that someone would be right with me. I took a seat across from the counter and waited. Ten minutes passed. The restaurant wasn’t busy, yet not one employee approached me. When I finally returned to the counter to ask if I could order, another woman said flatly, “The kitchen is closed.” I explained that her coworker had just told me to sit and that someone would help me. Her response: “Well, I’m sorry, the kitchen is closed. You can’t order anything.” So out of seven employees I interacted with, only one informed me that the kitchen was closed. I laughed it off, bought a cookie, and left — but it already left a bad impression. Sunday, October 5th: Still wanting to give them another chance (and craving those Belgian waffles), I returned around 10:30–11 a.m. Once again, no greeting. I had to find an employee for assistance. There were three tables available: two for four people, and one very small table squeezed tightly between others — maybe 18 inches apart. When I asked if I could sit at one of the larger tables since I’d be ordering right away and wouldn’t stay long, I was told no — those tables were “for people with strollers.” I was instead directed toward the cramped space. I politely said I’d wait for a table, but was then told I could sit at the large table for eight. Fine by me. Soon after, another guest — an older woman — sat at the same table because, apparently, she too wasn’t allowed to sit at a four-top. And she obviously didn't find the tiny table squeezed in appealing either. I ordered my waffles and juice, and to their credit, the food was great. As I was finishing my beverage, a woman who identified herself as the manager came over and suggested that I move to another small table in direct sunlight because “a group of five just arrived.” They didn’t have a reservation. I found it incredibly rude that rather than ensuring I had everything I needed, she was focused on moving me to accommodate new guests. I simply told her I’d leave, paid my bill, and left a generous tip — even though I still don’t know who my actual server was, but I do know the importance of tipping. So whomever that tip went to, you're welcome. Maman Edgewater clearly has potential — the food and presentation are lovely. But the service is disorganized, inattentive, and lacks basic hospitality. Guests shouldn’t have to chase down staff, wonder who their server is, or be asked to move to make room for someone else. So after being directed to a large table I was told to move. Having grown up in and around much larger family restaurants my entire life, I know firsthand that good service isn’t complicated — it’s about awareness, communication, and care. Sadly, this team is missing all three. Beautiful space, great food — but zero warmth and poor management. I truly hope they improve, because right now, Maman Edgewater doesn’t live up to its reputation.
