I’ve been to Mamán a few times — mostly the South Beach location — and it’s always been great. You sit down, someone comes right over, super friendly vibe, good service, everything smooth. This one though was a totally different story. I sat there for about 25 minutes and no one came to the table, even though I made eye contact with a few servers. They were just walking around chatting, and the place wasn’t even full. I ended up going to the counter myself, and the person there barely looked at me — very dry, not welcoming at all. I honestly don’t know if this spot is supposed to be self-service or if they just decided not to attend me, but it really left a bad impression. Food was fine, but service definitely wasn’t.

This location feels more like a restaurant than a cafe. We waited for the server about 20mins after being seated. I ended up ordering to go and I got the order faster than all the time I wasted on the table waiting to order a coffee. I have visited most of the locations and this one is my least favourite, the service wasn’t good and the server did not even care.

I’ve been to Maman in different States and various branches, I was never disappointed until this morning. The service was lacking so much that with an infant I had to wait for someone to come in welcome, pass menu or offer a highchair. Even after I asked for highchair they said there is only two and both were in use. Just to mention, I arrived there about 15 minutes after opening and probably not even quarter of the cafe was full! The crew were not attentive and I decided to get some breakfast pastries and coffee to go. The chocolate pistachio croissant was an absolute letdown without any trace of pistachio natural flavoring tending more towards commercial filling inside a croissant. The plain croissant also smelled oily more towards margarine than butter. To spend $18 on a take out coffee and two pastry items I would have much higher expectation!!

This place was recommended by instagram and it has not disappointed at all ! (Unlike others) Not only is the food great and the coffee amazing but the prices are realistic and not inflated ! Unfortunately I can only share a photo of my latte as the carrot cake was so good I ate it before taking a picture.

Such a lovely little café — cozy, charming, and full of character. Maman really hits the spot when you're craving something fresh and comforting. The pastries are so tempting (and delicious), it’s hard to pick just one! I had the Papa Bowl, which was super tasty and satisfying. You woukd expect it to be overly heavy, but the fresh greens beneath the layers made it refreshing and tasty. Only tiny note — the egg on top was fried and a bit overcooked for my taste (yolk was fully set), and it was pretty small. But still, overall the dish was great! The staff were really kind and helpful. I asked the cashier for a recommendation and she nailed it. I ended up staying for a while — had a slow, peaceful morning working through emails with my breakfast, and the whole vibe was just perfect. Even though it’s counter service, they still brought everything over and were super attentive. And best of all — no sneaky automatic service charge like some other spots! Definitely will return to try a pastryvand matcha latte before my trip is over — it’s the kind of place you just want to settle into and stay a while.
