  Mamam Café may be in a convenient central location, but the experience left a lot to be desired. The place was extremely busy, which made the atmosphere loud and chaotic — not the kind of environment where you can relax or enjoy your meal. Unfortunately, the customer service was just as disappointing. The staff seemed rushed and impatient, and when I tried to correct my order, I was given the same incorrect item again without any apology or effort to make things right. Overall, I was not impressed with any part of my visit. The noise, the lack of attention to customers, and the poor service made it an unpleasant experience. I wouldn’t recommend Mamam Café if you’re looking for good service or a comfortable place to enjoy your coffee or meal.

  This cafe is a beautiful setting in the heart of DC. The seating area is spacious and the display cases are full of delectable pastries. I went for a Papa Bowl and a Cappuccino to start my day. The bowl consisted of roasted potatoes with bacon and arugula and topped with a fried egg and half an avocado. This bowl was flavorful and every item well cooked. My cappuccino was also prepared quite well too. Service was friendly and efficient. Maman is a great spot for breakfast…

  Update: went back a week later, someone got the pumpkin pie latte and it was great and exactly what you’d expect. Seems like it’s a place that each barista is going to make a significantly different coffee The pumpkin pie latte (seasonal) is unfortunately devoid of any flavor beyond cinnamon. Not at all sweet, it will need shots of something The vegan tahini sesame dark chocolate was delightful. Great flavor, great consistency, highly recommend. The honey butter latte (seasonal) he got and was thrilled with it, he is a coffee connoisseur and was over the moon with it.

  Tuve una experiencia increíble en Maman. Desde que llegué, la atención fue excelente —todo el personal fue muy amable y atento, y en especial Juan Pablo, quien hizo que la visita fuera aún más agradable con su servicio y calidez. El ambiente del restaurante es acogedor, con una decoración preciosa y detalles que hacen sentir como en casa. La comida deliciosa, bien presentada y con sabores que se notan hechos con dedicación. Sin duda, un lugar al que volvería y que recomiendo totalmente para disfrutar de una buena comida y un servicio de primera. 💛

  I was super excited when I saw there was a maman in DC and even bragged to my friend about how good everything at maman usually is. When I went to order my sandwich at 3:50pm, the young man at the register turned around to ask the kitchen something and then turned back to tell me the kitchen was closing early due to a meeting and then he mumbled something about a menu change. I told him I spent $25 to uber here and he tried talking to the woman at the kitchen again and she refused to make us anything. I asked for a manager and he said they all went home for the day. When I asked for her name, he just offered me a quiche instead which I declined because I came here specifically for the gluten free options. We ended up leaving. Very disappointing.
