This is my favorite Mediterranean food in Louisville, particularly the hummus. It is an eat-in restaurant, but it is small and not
really that great for dining with a friend if you want talk and linger. If you want to eat quickly and leave, perfectly comfortable. It’s very clean and again, great service.

great food, friendly staff, good value. owned by original owner of safier, so if you liked that food, you'll like this. most things on the menu are solid but some highlights that other places don't do well are the mujadara, and the yellow lentil soup, and don't sleep on their burger which is basically a chapli kabob on a bun.

I LOVE this place. I ordered the chicken shwarma sandwich with extra pickles and a side Greek salad. The sandwich was flavorful and juicy and the salad was crisp and fresh. The extra pickles were the perfect contrast to the savory garlic sauce on the sandwich. AND it's affordable. Most definitely adding this to the rotation.

Arrived around 12:30 on a Saturday and was able to immediately order and grab a table. Seating appears to be somewhat limited - there's about seven tables inside and I think one outside.
The menu on the wall is limited to mostly Mediterranean dishes, but the physical menus also have a large selection of dishes from the Indian subcontinent.
We ordered hummus, shish tawook, and goat biryani. All dishes were delicious. The hummus was super smooth, and the goat biryani had a decent heat level. Recommended and we will be regulars for sure!

Fantastic, if I had to choose one word to describe my experience that would be it. My cousins & I came here looking to expand our palates, we are thankful we did. We shared all of our dishes which include: Lamb Kabobs, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Shwarma w/ garlic sauce, Beef Shwarma w/ tahini sauce, Tabbouleh, Greek salad, and Hummus. To drink we tried their limeade, mango juice drink, and masala tea. Each one was fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile.
The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting. They made our first experience memorable & we will be dining here again Lord willing. If you’re looking to branch out or already love Mediterranean cuisine, I highly recommend Maira. 5/5 stars.
