- CYCy YangApr 26, 20251.0The products are fine, Madewell is always decent quality. BUT Avery at this store is so rude and racist against Asian customers. Yes, Avery, remember the name. My friend and I both had horrible experiences at different times. I wonder how the store even allows this kind of behavior. No greetings, refused to help us or make eye contact, perfunctory responses when we ask for product availability; another group of customers (non-Asian) were treated VERY differently. Very offended. Hope the manager sees it and discuss the behavior of your employees so that everyone, regardless of race, has a pleasant shopping experience.

- KKKristineJan 11, 20241.0The first time I went to Madewell, it was in Scottsdale and I felt so nervous to find jeans in my size. I thought the Scottsdale ladies would judge me or be unsupportive — but they were fabulous and multiple employees in the store were cheering me on as I tried on jeans. And then I visited my home store in Tucson. And every time I’ve been in this store, the people are rude and snooty and absolutely unhelpful. It’s so disappointing every time I visit this location. It’s been years of this experience and I’m writing this review now because I just walked out of *another* experience there that felt so weird and condescending and discouraging. I would expect these experiences from the Scottsdale store, but never from a store in Tucson. I’m someone who will easily brush off experiences and give folks the benefit of the doubt…. But why is your staff consistently snooty and rude?

She explained in detail how to care for their premium jeans and made the whole experience for me and my girls perfect!! This will be our go to for great clothes and great service. Thank you!!
