Great emergency tree removal plus some pruning of dead dangerous branches. Appreciated the good communication and great people.
Look forward to taking down trees overhanging the garage as soon as the leaves fall. They will be creative in their approach!

Mike's Team did an amazing job from start to finish. Mike coordinates with the Greenspace Coordinator in our community and follows the guidelines perfectly. His team are experts at climbing and judiciously trimming/removing limbs while taking extra care not to damage gardens and landscaping around their work. Everything is planned out before they begin their work and they adjust those plans based on things discovered during the job, such as rotted trunks, unusual locations to access, etc.
We have always been very pleased with their work and their professionalism. I highly recommend the M&M Tree Service for all projects involving trimming, pruning and tree removal.
Our tree services are available in Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Stephenson County. We cater to Galena, Freeport, Stockton, Savanna, Elizabeth, Mt. Carroll, and the neighboring communities within the tri-county area.

Do I need a permit for tree removal on my property?
Generally, permits are not required for tree removal on private property. However, certain municipalities may have regulations regarding tree removal near protected areas or power lines. Our team can assist in determining if a permit is necessary for your specific situation.
How do I know if a tree needs to be removed?
Professional tree removal may be necessary if your tree exhibits the following signs: minimal to no leaf growth indicating it's dead or dying; dangerous leaning towards structures, driveways, or power lines; storm damage resulting in split trunks or broken branches; root growth causing foundation or driveway damage; or overcrowding that hinders the healthy growth of other trees.
How much does tree removal cost?
Tree removal costs are determined by several factors: the size and height of the tree, its location and accessibility, the complexity of the job (proximity to structures, power lines, or other obstacles), and whether stump grinding is included in the service.
Do you remove the stump after tree removal?
Stump removal is not automatically included in our tree removal service. However, we offer stump grinding as an additional service to ensure a complete cleanup of your property.
How often should I trim my trees?
For most trees, trimming every 2-3 years is beneficial. However, fast-growing species or ornamental trees may require annual pruning to maintain their health and appearance.
What are the benefits of tree trimming?
Regular tree trimming and pruning offers several benefits: it promotes healthy growth and disease prevention, reduces the risk of storm damage by removing weak branches, improves sunlight penetration and air circulation for tree health, and prevents branches from interfering with power lines, roofs, and driveways.
When is the best time of year to trim trees?
The optimal time for tree trimming varies by species. For most trees, late fall or winter is ideal as they are dormant. Light pruning for shape maintenance and removal of weak growth can be done in spring and summer.
