About

Paving Contractor
Rooted in a commitment to excellence and founded in 1978, Lyons & Hohl embarked on its journey with Greg Lyons and Ron Hohl installing a water main near Downingtown as their inaugural project. Founding their operations in Honey Brook, the duo soon transitioned to installing sewer laterals, laying the foundation for what would become a pioneering company in the local construction industry. From those early days, Greg and Ron instilled a philosophy emphasizing the importance of assembling a team of exceptional individuals. Caring for their people became a cornerstone of the company's identity. Progressing into site development work near Shillington marked a significant step, with subsequent projects expanding across Chester, Berks, Lancaster, and Montgomery counties. Lyons & Hohl focused on cultivating good people within the company, understanding that the success of any endeavor hinges on the strength and dedication of its team. The founders pursued a path of measured growth, strategically hiring personnel and acquiring equipment, always mindful of balancing customer satisfaction with maintaining a robust foundation to navigate the inherent challenges of the construction business.

Would not recommend. Our driveway is less than a year old and the edge is crumbling in spots and was told it’s because of the vegetation….. simple google search will tell you that grass shouldn’t cause asphalt to crumble. From day one we had issues, wasn’t pitched properly and had low spots. They came out and did a sub par repair that looked horrible. After complaining they came out and milled it down and put a thicker layer on top. Fixed the pitch and drainage issue but now we have the edges crumbling like it wasn’t compacted properly. We’re unhappy with their service and their quality of work from day 1, and the sales reps answer was “we’ll see what we can do”, and that was after I had to argue that grass shouldn’t crumble asphalt. His initial response was just to blame it on the grass and told me to spray some weed killer on it. Do yourself a favor and use someone else.

We had Lyons & Hohl seal our driveway a few weeks ago and we couldn't be happier with the results. The crew showed up on time and were so polite and professional. If you want your driveway sealed right the first time, I highly recommend choosing these guys.

These guys are one of the best in the business in Eastern Lancaster County. They know their stuff, do great prep work of the site removing old pavement, laying a good solid crusher run foundation, and applying new macadam. It still looks great after 4 years!

Reasonably priced and awesome job! We ripped it all up and had it redone due to poor maintenance by previous homeowners. We love our new driveway. It looks so nice that we can't stop looking at it. ;) highly recommend! It's been a couple of years and the driveway started to look bad. Some edges of the driveway were too high that when we ran over it, it just cracked and fell apart. It's like a 4"x6" area. My dad's is higher and it never cracked. (He went through a different company). They also told us the first year, try not to turn our tires in place. So we were as careful as possible. Well, it's been over a couple of years and little bits of the driveway still crumble up if we did that. They never sealed our driveway either after the job. There were 2 neighbors who recently got theirs done and it definitely got sealed. Those driveways were flatter than ours. So now we are trying to have it sealed every year til those little gaps *look* filled in. Then, we'll do every other year with sealing. This is a company that does commercial and residential. The mall was one of their pictures we saw and it doesn't break apart like our driveway. I guess they go super cheap with residential? Changed from 5 to 4 stars
