Racist and Unprofessional Management Ruins the Brand
Manager ERIKA and her female staffer displayed clear racial discrimination during my visit. Erika covered for her employee’s rude actions, and both were irresponsible and unprofessional—ignoring facts and letting personal biases damage Lululemon’s image. I won’t return and don’t recommend this store to anyone especially my friends.
Today, October 31, 2025, at 4 PM, I went to buy a simple black puffer jacket. At checkout, the female staffer was rude, acting like she didn’t want to sell it to me. She repeatedly said, “You can’t return this,” three times while scanning—even though I bought it full price. I stayed polite, explaining I wouldn’t return it since I’m leaving Edmonton for vacation tomorrow.
Suddenly, she claimed I made her uncomfortable and disrespected her. Then Erika rushed over, “I’m the manager. If my staff says you disrespected her, you did. I’m not selling you this jacket—if you don’t leave, I’ll call security.” I tried explaining calmly (a male staffer nearby seemed to know the truth but was too scared of her to speak), but it felt pointless with someone looking for a fight. Store cameras will show I was respectful the whole time. I always understand the service work is not easy but I was treated like this.
Their bias and refusal to hear me out left me shocked. Avoid this toxic spot.

Just do not go here, shop online, the girls gossip and cause trouble at the cash register then get some guy involved in girl drama and accuse me of the gossip. I was so confused. I just needed to buy some stuff and some was going on gift cards I had in my app, they said I couldn’t use them. So I left and used online.
I am a loyal Lululemon member and would like to file a formal complaint regarding my recent experience at the South Edmonton Common store.
On Friday October 10th, 2025, during the afternoon I tried to return a product, but unfortunately, the staff did not assist me because the tag was not attached to the item. I explained that I’m a member, but she still refused to help and also didn’t assist me when I asked for help accessing my email to show the proof of purchase.
The manager there, a young short woman, spoke to me in an inappropriate manner and refused to help. She was speaking in a loud voice and was not professional at all. She is not qualified to deal with customers or to hold such a position, especially in a company like Lululemon.
The manager’s behavior was unprofessional, rude, and inappropriate for a workplace environment. Her conduct created a hostile and uncomfortable situation, which I believe is not acceptable for any staff member, especially someone in a managerial position. The manager also gave me incorrect information when I asked to receive the receipt by email. She told me that Lululemon does not issue electronic receipts, which is not true, as I have previously received a printed receipt before.
She refused to assist me and handled the situation in a very personal and unprofessional manner.
Indeed, I later visited the West Edmonton Mall location, and the experience was completely different. The staff there were extremely respectful, and one of the employees processed the return promptly and professionally upon accessing my account, and he also issued and sent the receipt to my email, contrary to the incorrect information provided by the manager at the South Edmonton Common store.
Thank you for your time and understanding

Lululemon, Southgate
They do show their prices and even have a sale rack—just no actual sale signs anywhere. Must be a new Southgate trend.
I was approached twice by staff, and both times the opening line threw me off—in the best way. Not your typical “Can I help you?” but something along the lines of “I know I can help you find what you’re looking for.” How did she know? Great service, confident approach, and yes—prices still higher.
