Founded in Vancouver BC in 1998, the first lululemon shared its retail space with a yoga studio. We've been growing ever since, and our technical yoga and run clothes are now available in countries all over the world. We want to elevate the world from mediocrity to greatness. Our Mission Statement is to create components for people to live longer, healthier, fun lives. We make technical athletic apparel for yoga, dancing, and most other sweaty pursuits. All lululemon locations have strong ties to our local communities.

UPDATE: Manager Stephanie called and apologized and they are sending me the correct item. Thank you!! Ordered an item online for pick up, they put the wrong item in the bag. When I got home I noticed it’s not what I ordered. Called several times no answer so I can get the item I paid for. Disappointed.

I visited the new Lululemon in West Van on opening night and left disappointed. After 10 minutes of browsing, staff began shushing customers and told us shopping was paused so everyone could listen to a speech on Indigenous art and culture. This wasn’t a short speech, but a longer talk that deserved a proper setting. While I respect the speaker and topic, the way it was handled felt disrespectful to both customers and the guest speaker. Overcrowded space, no room to move, and staff implying we had to give full attention instead of shop. On an opening night, I don’t expect to be told I can’t shop. Poor planning and presentation from the brand.

I visited the Lululemon store at Park Royal in West Vancouver with my wife to purchase a pair of women’s pants. We’re both personal trainers, and we each have a 25% employee discount. I was at the counter preparing the purchase when the sales associate bluntly told me that I couldn’t use my discount on a women’s item because “you can only use your discount on your own purchases.” I asked, “Why not? You don’t know—maybe I want to wear it myself.” She then gave me a mocking, judgmental laugh that made me furious. I told her, “You have no right to mock someone’s gender or style. We live in a free country, and maybe I like wearing women’s clothing—your laughter and judgement are completely unacceptable.” It was at that moment my wife stepped in, insisted on using her discount code, and we asked to speak with a manager. The manager came over and managed to complete the transaction — but nobody offered us an apology. The entire interaction left us feeling judged, uncomfortable, and unwelcome. I’ve always thought Lululemon claimed to value inclusivity and respect for individuality. Unfortunately, the treatment we received at this location was anything but inclusive or respectful. I hope management addresses this, because a mocking laugh is not the kind of customer service that reflects your brand values.
