20+ year customer insuring my vehicles, boats, RVs, homes, jewelry, all with State Farm, and when I finally have an homeowners claim I am treated completely unfairly, unethically, and unlawfully. It was bad enough a couple years backwhen I purchased my new truck and added coverage to it, State Farm messed up, and I actually found out the policy change never got processed. I was driving for months with NO COVERAGE thanks to their errors. Then, when the error was fixed, I ended up paying a higher premium than originally quoted because “they can’t go back and get old rates”. I made a rather negative review at that time, but Luke kindly begged me to remove it, and because he acted like he cared, I did so. Well, here we are again, and enough is enough. We are 1.5 years into a nightmare of a homeowner’s claim due to storm damage. State Farm has pulled out all the stops, delayed inspections for bogus reasons, time and time and time again, held us hostage as we cannot switch carriers until our roof is replaced (no company will take on our damaged roof without charging astronomically high premiums). We are into the appraisal process now. They have delayed that several times as well. The latest reason being, their attorney cannot make the scheduled date. MY ATTORNEY IS NOT ATTENDING THE APPRAISAL AND IT IS NOT REQUIRED THAT THEIRS BE THERE EITHER. The further delays, of course, have only cost me many more hundreds (or thousands) on my attorney fees, with all the additional correspondence that has needed to be done. State Farm will stop at nothing to make sure this costs us many thousands of dollars regardless of the outcome. Furthermore, they are claiming hail damage to be considered “normal wear and tear”. Really? So if my house catches on fire, is that normal wear and tear as well? What if someone rear ends me when I’m driving, also normal wear and tear to my car? Meanwhile, in the midst of all this, they’ve raised my homeowner’s premium by more than FORTY PERCENT!!!! This kind of retribution is one hundred percent ILLEGAL!!! Dealing with State Fraud Insurance on this claim has been an absolute nightmare for almost 1.5 years now and there is no end in sight.
