Visited for the first time today with my 11 year old son who is just now getting into sports card collecting and investing. They were very helpful in showing us some good options to fit his budget (money that he earned mowing grass) and providing overall advice on getting started in the hobby. We will definitely make it a regular stop…great experience!!!

This has bothered me for a few weeks since it happened, and I decided to share. June 28th I went into this location. I had called at least twice about a certain card that I was looking for, and they had one. Due to my work schedule and my health being up and down, my free time is sparse. Today was a day I had free. I had decided I was going to buy this particular card with my tax refund. Had the money in my wallet, had my mind set. Walk in out of the rain, I notice three people inside behind the counter wearing shirts with the stores logo embroidered on it. Classy. I look around for 5 minutes, getting a lay of the land. Finally, someone asks if they can help me. I told the associate I was there to look at a card I had called about. I find the card in the case. The other two people wearing Louisville Sports Cards shirt are laying on the case with “my” card, not letting me get a good look at it. No offer to move as I am trying to look at the reason I came in. I walk to other case of cards, kind of mad. Finally, one of the guys moves. I take the initiative and pounce. I look at the card, I pull out my phone, take a picture, zoom in on the picture. No one comes up to me. The Cincinnati Reds are on the tv. I grow disappointed and realize I’m not going to get to look at the card other than through the glass of the display case. I start to leave, finally, I hear “Can I help you with something?” Shocked, I turn around and see the employee talking to me. “Yes” I say. “I’d like to look at the 1954 Topps Hank Aaron you have in the case down there please”. “Ohh, that’s a big-boy card”. What kind of reply is that? What kind of customer service is that? I’m not in there looking at Mike Trout cards. I’m not in there thumbing through Elly De La Cruz stuff. I’m 50 years old, have been collecting cards for 40 of them, and have a collection most people would thoroughly enjoy, including several “big boy cards”. I cannot think of a time I was ready to spend near 3000$ on an item and had the seller insult me in the process. I left, empty-handed, walked back to my car in the rain. Wasted trip to Louisville. So, if you want my opinion, and you have read this far, here it goes. Avoid this place. Drive the extra 15 minutes to Through the Decades. You’ll be treated a LOT better. Even though TTD did not have the card I wanted, I’ll wait. I’ll find it there, Indianapolis, Cincinnati or somewhere OTHER than Louisville Sports Cards. Yes, I know it’s there, but I’ll buy it somewhere else for 200$ more before I darken this places door again and steel myself for another insult.
