I stopped in late night last night, after a horrendous shift at the retail store where I work, and probably looked like someone had kicked my puppy, stolen my car, and burned down my home. The staff sat me, got me chips and salsa, and took my drink order right away. In all honesty, I don't come here often, but the fact that they're open late and have drinks was a huge deciding factor in my choice of restaurant.
I got a lovely cocktail, which was blue and tasted delicious and coconutty, but went down so smoothly that I've forgotten the name of it. Might have been a Blue Hawaiian?
Chips, salsa, and cheese dip helped me relax a bit and definitely upped my enjoyment, but were on par with the same items at other restaurants
The steak fajitas were delicious, and came with plenty of tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream. The rice and beans were fine, again on par with other Mexican restaurants in the area.
What was really awesome was the service. I'm sorry that I cannot remember the server's name, but she was so attentive and kind that this will stick with me for a long time. She made sure I had plenty of water and refilled my chips and salsa while I was gorging myself on the rest of it. Obviously she recognized that I'd had a bad day, and wanted to do what she could to make it a bit better. So, I want to thank her, because she went above and beyond.
Please eat at Los Amigos in Westland- they're good people and deserve to continue to thrive in our community for a long time.
