The Lone Mountain Nevada Temple was announced on October, 2, 2022, by President Russell M. Nelson as the fourth temple in the state. The temple is currently in the planning and approval phase. A groundbreaking date has not yet been announced.
It’s unfortunate that decision makers within the church prioritize an enormous building over building goodwill within communities. This could have been a great opportunity to bring a community together, but because of the church’s actions with regard to zoning changes and refusing to work with residents, it has only caused division wherever temples are being built. I do hope some changes are eventually made and that the church will start doing the right thing for not only their members, but for communities across the country. There is no reason for this division to continue.
