This was a cool hotel. So much history and very well done. Service was great, the area was perfect and the rooms were nice. My son loved having the loft room.

The location is nice, and I understand the thin walls and poor soundproofing given the historic nature of the lodge. But the front desk’s attitude completely ruined our stay. We were told we could check out at 11:30, yet got a call at 11 telling us to leave ASAP. We also had to switch rooms right after arrival because the lighting didn’t work — the engineer was kind and even upgraded us to a larger room. But the next day, the front desk told us, “we did you a favor because that room doesn’t allow dogs,” which came across as rude and unnecessary. The microaggressions and unprofessional tone left a really poor impression. Decent property, but terrible hospitality. Definitely wouldn’t stay again.

This is the perfect one night getaway from Bay Area. We loved it. Simple but well done simple. Go to lunch at Tony’s. Then do dinner at Mable’s on property. Mable’s is amazing Mediterranean. Get the hummus and corn!!!

The most beautiful place I have stayed in California. All the design was so thoughtful, there were plenty of trails and free activities, their amenities are great, the view of the bay is stunning, and the restaurant food quality is excellent. Will be coming back here again!

We had a great stay at the Lodge at Marconi. The midcentury decor is beautiful and thoughtful down to the last detail. The protected land is so serene and the perfect launching point to explore Point Reyes, our favourite spot in California to date. We already want to come back. I was very surprised to read critical reviews. It seems that management has listened to feedback because we appreciated thoughtful details like filtered water at the lobby with refillable glass bottles, smores kits, ear plugs (though we did not experience any noise issues, perhaps because there was no room above ours) not to mention the kindest front desk staff and excellent housekeeping. There were a few small imperfections that didn’t affect our enjoyment of our stay at all, and that were more than acceptable given the reasonable price. The site’s history didn’t detract from our experience - in fact it got us reading and learning. Be prepared to pick up groceries in nearby Point Reyes Station as there is no breakfast served at the hotel and brunch is only available at Mabel’s on certain days. If you think of the Lodge at Marconi as a cabin stay in a state park for design aficionados rather than what you’d expect from a full service hotel in a city, you’re in for such a treat.
