This laundry used to be clean, we'll lit, had modern functional washers and dryers, and was staffed with friendly helpful attendants. Since Lighthouse's purchase of the Sunshine Center Laundry on Pleasant Street it is no longer any of that. The same goes for the Sunshine Center. We have a local business and have relied on both of these laundries for their wash and fold service. The last several times we have tried to drop off laundry during their normal hours of operation there was no attendant so we washed the laundry ourselves. This was made challenging because several of the washer and dryers were out of service. The machines only took coins or a mobile app, no credit or debit cards. This is a college town with lots of rentals, if this business can't provide this community a reliable service they should sell the business to someone that can. The remaining in town option is Mr Suds. They will have all of my future business or I will go out of town to do our laundry.

Let me start by saying, i love maine. We have family and a summer rental cottage here. We use to use lighthouse laundry for their was and fold service. I say use to because,.as of my trip today, we wont be using them anymore. Over the last year it has declined terribly. The washers smell awful, half of them dont work, and the place is filthy. Don't drop anything on the floor because its instantly dirty and covered in hair. Let me go back to the smell, ya know that wet dirty dog smell, ya thats it. I know what my retirement buisness will be..

There are 16 broken washers or dryers as of 9/18/25. That should tell you everything that you need to know if you're reading reviews and trying to decide on whether or not to do laundry here. Good luck

My machine broke over the weekend, so I had to go into the laundromat to do laundry. I decided to go to this laundromat (Pleasant st.)because it's close to home. When I walked in I noticed how absolutely filthy the place is. The machines are disgusting. I don't even want to wash my clothes there, but I don't have a choice. The coin machine wasn't working. The soap vending machine wasn't working. I had to ask the attendant for change. She was on a personal call, then I had to get soap out of the dispenser, which didn't work, so I went and asked her for help, and she was still on her personal call so she would not help me. Several other people came in the meantime, and she chose to help them before she helped me. Next time I will be going elsewhere.

I had 2 sleeping bags and pillows to wash and found Lighthouse Laundry. We wanted the large washer which needs an app. Molly, who was attending was so helpful and helped us get set up quick without the app. She also advised to not use the dryer for the sleeping bags as they could melt. I appreciated her letting us know. No problem. It was a sunny day for air drying! Everyone was friendly and a customer even help me figure out how to shut the door. One quick large load and onward to our next adventure! Thanks Lighthouse, we will be back!
