The tech was great and patient with me. I had an attitude and he stayed polite the entire time, then I couldn’t get the humming down and he was trying to help me and work with me. He truly was an angel, and in a frustrating situation for me that had nothing to do with him he showed me nothing but kindness. It was much appreciated!! Thank you

OMG, the poor tech dealing with me was incredibly kind. It took WAY too long for me to get the hang of the hum and breathe and he was so incredibly patient. I only realize now that I actually never got his name.
And I wish I did because while I’m still mastering the mid-drive test (let’s just say that’s insanely hard while you’re trying to dodge idiot drivers and pedestrians who just walk out in front of you), after I left the shop, I NAILED IT repeatedly with a max of three tries getting back into my car after each of my stops. Huzzah!! I’m not sitting somewhere dangerous just trying to start my car!!!
I kinda think I was overwhelmed and this lovely man was so patient. I kept him outside for a long time. Like a REALLY long time. And I started to notice and that’s what exacerbated the whole thing.
If I can offer some feedback: I 100% understand that it’s his job to ensure that the knowledge is mastered. But as a STEM girl who tends to forget how to type when my boss is standing over me when I’m trying to solve a problem, maybe just take a step back. Don’t hover, stay close, but let me sit a minute and try on my own without someone all up in my bizz. Because honestly I was getting more keyed up about keeping him outside than anything else which was making everything that much harder as it went on.
He was an outstanding teacher who did everything by the book. I just kinda wish the book didn’t involve looming over someone and instead let them stand against the wall to wait for the engine to come on if the newb needs that.

How do I use my ignition interlock device?
During your appointment at LifeSafer, you'll receive comprehensive guidance on operating the LifeSafer ignition interlock device. This includes instructions on proper usage, what to avoid prior to using the device, and tips for ensuring it operates effectively. Please do not hesitate to ask your certified installer any questions you may have about your car breathalyzer and our services.
How much does an ignition interlock device cost?
The cost for installing a LifeSafer ignition interlock device, also known as a car breathalyzer, usually ranges from $70 to $150. This is a one-time installation fee that you'll pay at the beginning of your lease period for the device. You'll pay this fee directly to the service center that installs the device in your vehicle. Additional fees are usually incurred every time you must have your device calibrated and vary by state.
How does an interlock device/car breathalyzer work?
After the device is set up, drivers need to breathe into the car breathalyzer's mouthpiece to provide a sample. This device checks the driver’s breath alcohol concentration (BAC) to measure it is within legal limits. Typically, if the BAC is below .025, the driver is then clear to insert their keys and start the vehicle.
