- DWDavid WalshSep 24, 20245.0Northeast Light and sound is an Amazing place!!! Unfortunately I had to get a Breathalyzer installed into my vehicle and I'm so glad I chose this place! The employees from the start to the finish were absolutely fantastic to work with. Robert is the first person to greet you when you arrive at Northeast Lights and Sound and he's the one that installs your sound system if need be!!! Then there's Jason who was with me for the long haul doing all of my calibrations and fixing problems for my breathalyzer!!! Harry(the Boss and owner) is an amazing guy overall, he was always there taking care of business! Harry is an amazing person and Boss, if I had to choose anyone to work for it would be someone like Harry!!! My experience with Northeast Lights and Sound was top notch and definitely will be going back in near future for window tinting and possibly a sound system!!! I would 100% refer this business to anyone and everyone that is looking for window tinting, sound systems to be installed and/or breathalyzers to be installed(hopefully not tho) they suck to have! The cost for installing a LifeSafer ignition interlock device, also known as a car breathalyzer, usually ranges from $70 to $150. This is a one-time installation fee that you'll pay at the beginning of your lease period for the device. You'll pay this fee directly to the service center that installs the device in your vehicle. Additional fees are usually incurred every time you must have your device calibrated and vary by state.
How does an interlock device/car breathalyzer work?
After the device is set up, drivers need to breathe into the car breathalyzer's mouthpiece to provide a sample. This device checks the driver’s breath alcohol concentration (BAC) to measure it is within legal limits. Typically, if the BAC is below .025, the driver is then clear to insert their keys and start the vehicle.
