Our beginning takes us back to Short Street where, for two generations, G.B. King & Son sold and fabricated sheet metals into gutters, roofing, tobacco flues, air ducts, and any number of items made of metal. Working for Presto Products as product superintendent, James A. Lewis was introduced to brothers Nick and Doug King, whose services as metallurgists were frequently used by the South Boston producer of plastic bags and wraps. One day in late 1989, Lewis casually offered to buy G.B. King and Son's business should it ever become available. A short time later, Lewis bought the business, added his name and continued to operate from the original location in downtown South Boston.
