I dont know what they are doing, but their testing is not accurate or their procedures are off. I brought in a sample to check against the numbers I got from my Taylor test kit. They were way off! I knew something was wrong, either with my own testing or theirs, so I went back home, took a larger sample, redid my testing with their test strips AND my Taylor kit (took pics for documentation), then took the rest of the sample back to have it tested by them again. Several numbers changed (ph went from 7.9 on the first test to 7.4 - which is what I got both times i tested...why such a huge change between 2 samples taken roughly 30 minutes apart, especially when my results were the same both times?!?), but the total alkalinity was still way low! It didn't make any sense! I knew my testing wasn't that far off, especially since i was able to repeat my results while theirs changed. So I took the last bit of my sample to a different location, and their numbers matched mine. I then called the first location to alert them that their machine might need calibration (or really, the way they calculate total alkalinity adjusting for CyA was off...seems they subtracted all CyA instead of 1/3 of CyA...but we'll never know, because they dont show you the unadjusted total alkalinity). Anyway, all I got in response was an "ooookkkayyy??". They clearly dont understand the chemistry (im a chemical engineer, so i have a bit of an advantage, but they should still know their industry) or even why i was concerned that i got two vastly different results from them 30 minutes apart. It's worrisome, because they are going to end up screwing up someone's pool. I will no longer go to this location, and will now exclusively use the Fry Rd. location near Tuckerton.

My Polaris threw a wheel and I needed a new screw so I tool it to Leslie's. That afternoon the individual who took it in called and said that the metal connector that held the screw and was molded into the body of the Polaris could not be replaced and I was in the middle of repair ($300) or a New Polaris ($599). He was very condescending. I told him I'd check around and get back with him. I found the same Polaris on Amazon for $75 less and ordered it. I called back and told him I'd pick up my Polaris the next day and he said he'd reassemble it. I went in the next day and a different employee {Cody} was there and he could not have been more helpful. The Polaris had not been reassembled but Cody put it back together and offered to take it to my car (I refused). The following day I checked the Polaris and it seemed fine so I put it in the pool and it works fine. I don't know if it's store policy to make up unneeded repairs or if the employee's initiative but I feel they tried to gouge m $300 to $600. For all I know it's still missing a screw but they should have been up front. Cody was above reproach but I now have a $525 Polaris en route to me that I don't need - at least right now.
