We are incredibly grateful to have found the school. My daughter first started going to another Montessori school closer to where I live, but that school turned out to be just a glorified daycare, with lots of bad behavior that went on unaddressed and my child just doing coloring with crayons on her own time. When my daughter came here, she said she really likes it. Unlike the other place where she did not feel loved, over here, she felt that the teachers “really care“ and “love me,“ she said. We literally commute over half a hour to come to the school every day.
The teacher always responds to my emails within one day, and she works with me to help address my concerns. I love that the teachers help to teach etiquette, such as do not slouch on top of tables when you are walking, do not make strange loud noises, do not hurt other people, listen and be respectful and gentle. Because teaching a child to be classy and respectful is just as important as the Academic stuff.
The school teaches a good range of subjects. They have an English teacher to teach the English portion, a culture teacher to teach traditions and songs, math, and of course, Chinese because this is a Mandarin immersion school. Primarily Montessori school, they focus on individual responsibility and independent age-appropriate work. Through all the little projects, I have seen my child’s self-confidence improve. She is very proud of some of the work she completed. The teacher also does a very good job of uploading photos to the secure apps so that we can see what our kids are working on.
I am very thankful to the staff. Every single person is genuine, kind, and personable. They always take time to listen. Even when I ask for things that are not related to the school agenda, such as if they have recommendations for a good music class, or What can I do to help with my kids ADHD behavior, all of the staff members are more than willing to explore with me, talk to me, help me, send information by email and send more resources.
They also go out of their way to bring culture and warmth to make everybody feel like a tight-knit community. Jackie recently made tang yuan dessert for everyone. They always offer fun activities to include parents. The moon cake festival, we made Moon cakes. Etc. What a fun way to learn and bond with our kids! We are so very thankful. Thank you so much!
