I did enjoy my beans and chicken also the cornbread but my meatloaf had so much barbecue sauce on it I couldn't enjoy it. Also Everytime I ordered online I get there at time I was told and have to wait another 20 minutes or more. So I see the same price stuff and getting service for food inside has way bigger portions and the latest look fresher than what I received. Why pay the same and get less . That is to say next time I will be eating in the restaurant

I placed an online order and scheduled it for pickup at 1:30 PM. I arrived at 1:27 and noticed that the hostess desk was unoccupied. After a few minutes, a host came over, and I gave her my name. She went to the back and was gone for about 9 minutes before returning to say my order would take an additional 15 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even busy at the time. I went to sit in my car and came back after 15 minutes, only to be told they were just then bagging up my order. When I finally received my food, I asked for hot sauce (which they provided), and took my order to go. Now, about the food: The “pancakes” on the website should be listed as “pancake” (singular). It says pancakes plural, so I assumed I’d get at least two — but it was just one pancake for $10. The cup of fruit was mostly blueberries, one strawberry cut in half, and 2 small grapes — not worth $5. The chicken dinner was the best part. I received four fried wings with greens and macaroni and cheese. The greens were okay but under-seasoned — not one onion in sight. The mac and cheese was the biggest disappointment. It tasted like plain macaroni noodles with Velveeta poured on top — definitely not baked or made with real cheese. There was no silverware, no butter for the cornbread, and no attention to detail. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because the fried chicken and cornbread were both very good, and my son enjoyed the pancake. Before leaving, I checked other reviews and noticed many people have complained about the same issues — slow service and poor attitudes from the staff. The fact that these reviews go back months (or longer) and nothing has changed says a lot. Great food might make people overlook bad service, but when both are just average, customers won’t come back. I really wanted to like this place, but it’s clear that customer service isn’t a priority — and until that changes, I won’t be returning.

3 days ago 12 of us from New Orleans visited Kountry Kitchen and had the pleasure of having Samara as our server. SHE WAS FANTASTIC!! She was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable of the food she was serving..She was full of enthusiasm for us once she found out we were from Nola..She said she loves New Orleans.. The food was amazing besides the exception of the crab bisque it was salty and not like what we are used of..The Fried Fish,Mac n Cheese,Yams,Oxtails,Meatloaf,Deviled Eggs,&Mixed Greens, are all a must to try in my opinion..If for some reason on this life's journey, that I have to visit Indy again,I will definitely stop there again..Big shout out to Samara and prayers up for the establishment and thumbs down 👎🏾 to the cook that quit/walked out during our service..One monkey didn't stop the show..Yall still did a great job..I recommend 🚀👏🏾💪🏾💯

It took over 30 mns to get my food right before my food came up they ran out of sweet potatoes and said it will be a two hour wait. I didn't understand when your on your last pan why not start a new batch then. It was only 4 something on a Sunday afternoon and the place closes at 9 or 9:30. Our waiter was not as observant as needed. She was gone for a while then I asked for a cup of Sprite utensils to eat out food and cranberry sauce. She comes back with cranberry sauce and no drink. Before she came back another waiter gave us utensils to eat with. Minutes on minutes had went by during this time. Once we are our food the bill comes and the sweet potatoes was on the bill. We both ordered an extra side so three sides, the meal came with two sides. Since we got only two sides then the third side charge would have fallen off. At first our waiter did not under stand that. She still felt we was supposed to pay for an extra side we didn't get. Once the bill was cleared after 20 more mins. She then says oh sweet potatoes are up did you all want them honey no we are leaving now. I just felt it was so many teachable moments and we tried to school the waiter to help her out in the future. But I was displeased with my experience very much so.

I give this a 3 only because our server was wonderful and sweet, else it would be a 2 star. Where to begin. Cabbage- tasted like nothing Green beans- not a drop of flavor taste straight out of a can Cornbread- dry Mac & Cheese- interesting almost as if it was packaged but doctored up Rib tips- no rib or smoke flavor, all bbq sauce Yams- flavorless with a HINT of something sweet in it Collard greens- perfectly cooked and tender Hot honey chicken wings- not hot extremely sweet but the breading was good and chicken was moist. Peach cobbler- decent We spent $100 & understand that pricing is adjusted to the needs of the economy. But if you're going to charge that much, yall gonna have to do a little bit better with the taste of yalls food. This was our first time. We try out a new spot every time we come to Indy and today this was the pick. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. Cute place. Atmosphere was okay our neighbors were screaming and nobody asked him to bring it down so it was a bit much.
