Please be warned. If you value your safety and your home, stay far away from this company. We hired Knockout Renovation for a sauna and bathroom remodel, and the results were dangerously bad. We brought in an independent sauna expert after seeing major issues, and he immediately said everything had been done wrong and that the sauna was unsafe to use. He literally laughed at the workmanship and called it one of the worst, most serious mistakes he’d seen in sauna construction.
The craftsmanship throughout was careless and unsafe. We had to intervene repeatedly to stop Knockout from making more mistakes. Even the project management was so bad we eventually had to hire an independent project manager to manage Knockout’s own team.
Even basics like a so-called “construction cleaning” consisted of one person showing up with no supplies (actually, they had one single rag lol); we had to spend hours cleaning and later hire a hauler to remove leftover debris.
We’ve paused the project and engaged legal counsel. The sauna must be completely rebuilt from scratch to meet even basic safety standards.
I felt like I was on a reality home makeover show. I've only seen the professionalism they showed on programs like Love it or list it. They made us feel like the priority, our opinions and concerns were addressed. They always made sure we had all the information necessary to make informed decisions about the project. David and Keith were the only contractors out of the group we interviewed that were punctual. They were always on time for in person and virtual meetings. They always called ahead. They provided schematics and detailed plans and projections that allowed usto visualize and understand what they planned to do in my families home. They surpass your expectations and always make you feel they have your best interest at heart. I highly recommend them.

Knockout Renovation did an outstanding job remodeling our NYC apartment. We hired them for a full renovation, including a complete kitchen overhaul, two bathroom remodels, new hardwood floors, custom closets, lighting upgrades, and layout improvements. From the start, their team was organized, communicative, and attentive to our vision.
The kitchen was transformed into an open-concept space with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops, and modern appliances. The bathrooms were upgraded with walk-in showers, elegant tile work, and high-end fixtures, giving them a luxury feel. Their project manager kept everything on schedule and handled permits, deliveries, and inspections seamlessly.
What impressed us most was their attention to detail and how respectful and clean the crew was throughout the process. The quality of workmanship is top-tier, and the final result exceeded our expectations. Our home now feels more spacious, modern, and truly personalized. I highly recommend Knockout Renovation to anyone seeking a full-service, professional renovation team in NYC.

Update: This month I had to request NYC DOB to update Knockout Renovation's 6-year open permits fro replace a deceased electrician, so that we can proceed with inspections some 6-years later. They failed to close NYC Department of Buildings permits for plumbing and electrical work, leaving them open for six years. Despite paying six figures, I have had to personally intervene to resolve these issues, including removing a deceased electrical sub-contractor from the permits as I did this month. This dereliction by this company in handling permits has resulted in major inconvenience and significant financial burden.

Knockout Renovation promises a full-service experience, including permits and a 7-year warranty. My experience was the opposite: a nightmare of non-compliance and broken promises.
This GC mismanaged our gut renovation from the start. They failed to secure proper NYC DOB permits and inspections, leaving our apartment in non-compliance for five years until our building stepped in. This dereliction prevented a Certificate of Occupancy and forced us to spend thousands on remediation, including hiring an NYC DOB Expeditor. Knockout Renovation agreed to cover these costs but paid only 15%, leaving us with a set $25K bill!
Their "7-year labor AND product warranty" is a sham. They refuse to honor major issues, only minor cosmetic fixes. I was stuck paying $1,150 for a plumbing/stone leak they couldn't fix and would not reimburse me..
Knockout Renovation is irresponsible. They stiffed us for thousands and showed a shocking disregard for compliance and their own commitments. Avoid, especially if you're elderly and can't afford their financial snafus.

We did a gut renovation of our kitchen and bathroom in a small postwar one-bedroom on the UES, including replacing our bathtub with a walk-in shower. We interviewed six contracting firms; they were all comparable in their services and bids, but we chose Knockout because their location was a working office, rather than a showroom, and they never tried to distract us with fancy tales of their expertise, but got straight down to brass tacks. And now that the job is over, I can say that Knockout did a fine job; it was completed with reasonable dispatch, and we got exactly what we wanted.
Michael, the project manager, was efficient and easy to get along with; he communicated with us very well, kept us completely up to date on the work, and was always available for consultation, returning our calls and emails promptly. And everyone on the building staff also had a good impression of him, telling us he was very easy to work with. To install our new shower, we needed the cooperation of our downstairs neighbor—something that I was dreading—but Michael handled it all very smoothly, so there was no problem.
If there was one drawback in working with Michael, it was that he sometimes seemed too attached to his own vision for the project, and so was reluctant to implement our specific requests, none of which were unreasonable. This led to a few unnecessarily lengthy back-and-forths, and in one case the carpenter having to remove something that we had specifically said we didn’t want.
But Michael’s vision served us very well when he suggested a custom wall cabinet for the bathroom, which he designed and Knockout constructed. It’s practical and attractive, was surprisingly affordable, and we love it.
Most of the subcontractors did an excellent job, but at the very end we had a big problem with the plumber. The first time we used the dishwasher it flooded the kitchen floor; then we discovered that the shower controls had not been installed correctly: a necessary fitting was missing, and even some of the screws hadn’t been put in. Knockout immediately sent a new plumber who rectified these errors, but the problem should never have occurred. For a kitchen and bath reno, plumbing is the most important trade, and we would have been spared a good bit of anxiety had Knockout vetted the plumber a bit better.
Altogether, we would recommend Knockout. Other than this last glitch, they did a good job, and we love our new kitchen and bath. And a big thank-you to Kieth, the boss, and everyone else who works there, all of whom were unfailingly professional and generous with their time.
