  Black Stag is amazing! We had to run our two bathrooms remodeled from a distance as the house is in Washington and we’re currently in Texas. They were able to execute every detail perfectly while always keeping me in the loop. They had valuable input, and always addressed every concern I had. They sent me updates and pictures daily and made me feel very comfortable through the entire project. When we finally saw the completed remodel in person, it was even better than the pictures and far exceeded our expectations. They completed project on time and on budget. I cannot say enough good about these guys and highly recommend them. Often times with hiring a new contractor you don’t know what you’re going to get, but with Black Stag you not only get great carpentry work but fantastic customer service. I feel confident that we will use them in future projects.

  If I could give zero stars I would. I have never left a review such as the one I will be leaving today for this business. When I agreed to have Black Stag Constructing replace my old and worn deck, I asked for a cost efficient deck in terms of materials. The quality of the products were terrible and no communication ensued to inform me the wood was dry, old, split, and cracked. They said “we got it from Home Depot” and yet never had receipts to provide as to where the materials actually came from or how much the materials were separate from labor. Approximately 50% of the wood is not good. If I could take my old deck back, I would in a heartbeat. They started the job stating it was going to take 2-3 days maximum to complete, after they replaced the main body of the deck they informed me at the end of that first construction day the rail and privacy fence would have to wait due to the rail materials being on back order which was not disclosed to me prior to starting the job. When they returned almost 1.5-2 weeks later they installed the rail and the deck was in terrible condition and had more cracks than after the first day of construction, creaks, uneven boards, broken cables, sagging cables, support beams not properly aligned with wood shims between support beams and concrete footings which will rot, cracked foundation on stairs, screws sticking up everywhere…… I reached out and they made us wait 2 more weeks to come assess the issues which needed to be fixed. They then claimed the wood was splitting due to not being sealed, yet the initial conversation was the wood was pretreated. The reason it was not sealed, is because they had not yet fixed their mistakes. Their lack of communication, unprofessionalism, and poor workmanship are a huge concern. I offered ample opportunity for this company (Dominic, Sean, Killian) to rectify the issues prior to making formal complaints. I asked for them either to fix the issues, or to refund the amount needed to have another contractor fix the issues. These issues are significant in nature, and I ask that you think again before using Black Stag Constructing to complete your construction needs. I thought I did my research and thought I could trust giving them the remaining payment, I am out $4800 and have to now pay someone half of that to fix their mistakes. Update— 6/18/23 Still no resolution after several attempts to let them fix their mistakes. All I wanted was for them to fix the issues or refund me, said he didn’t have the money…. And not sure when he would have time to fix it.
