- RPRafael M. P.Oct 24, 20251.0I was asked to pay $460 dollars. For 15 minutes of time and a ~$10 mailbox lock. The company says that it's rates vary from $19-$200. I beleive I was lied to by the individual, awaiting to hear more from the company. There is a money back guarantee posted on the company website. Below are details: Over the phone the company states that its fees range from $19-$200. Plus a $29 service fee. Upon arriving the locksmith said $375 for the service. In 15 minutes: He cut out the old lock with a drill. Put in a new one new one that can be found at hardware store for ~$10. Then said the total is now $460 I told him no, that isn't what he said before. So now he tells me it is $375 +$45 service fee and tax of 10%. I told him I cant pay $460 when he told me $375. He insisted this is what is owed. I asked that he take the lock back. And how much for just breaking the old one. (Which he did with a drill in ~5 minutes). He said he cant take the new lock back. He said he can charge me $414. I paid $414. Then I called the company and they say that rates vary from: $19-200 +$29 service fee. So he lied to increae the cost, and then he lied to increase the cost again, and then then he lied that he could not take the lock back. Website says 100% money back guarantee. I am awaiting to see the next steps.
