When asking for a quote the gentleman was rude and cut me off. He quoted me and wanted a diagnostic fee paid over the phone when the locksmith wasn't even here. I told him I wasn't comfortable with that. He then was rude again and hung up .Not the kind of service I will be paying anything for.

Please note; although this may appear to be a locksmith when you've left keys in your car after a round of exhausted after-work grocery shopping, you are mistaken. This is in fact a key duplicating kiosk that happens to contract out locksmiths as a service. According to their website, and I quote, "KeyMe relies on a 3rd party to verify locksmith qualifications, but ultimately it is the customers responsibility to verify locksmith has necessary licensing, insurance and experience for the work being requested." I got the fullest experience of that statement. The locksmith I was dispatched arrived in an unmarked white van wearing normal, unmarked clothes, talking to customers on the phone for half the time he was with my vehicle. He advised me that he could easily use air bags to get the door wedged open enough to fit a tool into the door, letting him open the door from the inside. All without damaging the vehicle. Cool. After about 5 minutes of trying and failing to get a bag inserted into the driver's door, he decided he would use flat blade screwdrivers to pry at the top edge of the door to attempt to create a gap, which caused serious paint damage and holes to be poked in the door seals. After being unsuccessful and giving up on the driver's door, he moved over to the passenger door and tried the same. He was able to get 2 bags into this door, but it wasn't enough to get a tool into the door, so he yet again resorted to the screwdriver. At this point it was dark out, and he asked me to hold the screwdriver for him so he could use the rod in the door. He assured me many times that it caused no damage to the paint. The second I held the screwdriver I knew that it was directly on the paint, and was causing damage. I stopped at that point and told him it was damaging the paint. As an auto technician myself, he never should have asked me to touch the car. This is a huge liability. He kept going, saying nothing, and after about 2 hours, he was unsuccessful at unlocking the door and told me to break a window. He charged me $20 for a "service fee" and left. At that point I was desperate with groceries locked in the car, so I had to go back into the store minutes before they closed to buy an emergency hammer to break the window. The customer service was and has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company. I emailed keyme, and they referred me to a phone number. I called this number well over a dozen times over a 2 week period, and each time I was bounced around and around, being told that they'll talk to their supervisor and they'll "call (me) back", usually promising to call within an hour. I was never once called back. Eventually the technician called me personally, and offered $30 for damages. At my local body shop, I was quoted $4,100 to repair the paint damage on this classic car that has been in my family for 2 decades. I felt insulted. I went back to the keyme email, and demanded further support. Yet again, they were completely unhelpful, and even accusatory. They left my emails, including my latest one, unanswered. If you value your car, call an independent locksmith with a good name. Not some corporate slop like this.

It was easy and good. And, most of all the all work well. Makes me want to try out a key fob! But I am concerned with my Mini Cooper. But may look into it
