- VBV “Watching Seattle Crumble” BJan 27, 20252.0I'm very disappointed in my keys that just came in the mail. I used the kiosk inside of the Everett mall to get a couple spares made for my suburban. The kiosk said they would have to be specially cut and sent by mail instead of being cut on the spot by the machine. Well, the keys just arrived 2 days ago. I attempted to use 1 for the first time today. It worked fine to unlock my door (it's older and has to be manually unlocked, ugh😒, it can be very difficult in the dark). I went to start my car and the key doesn't fit in the ignition!!! The part you hold is way to big, my key is almost the same width from top to bottom and these ones have huge, idk what that part of the key is called but the part you hold and twist, they will NOT go into my ignition! I feel like this is a huge over sight on the company's end as I gave them all the correct info, year, make, model and they messed it up by cutting the wrong keys, and I got 3 of them!!! I also made a mistake though by tossing the card paper with the receipt away before testing these keys, I should of kept that until I was sure I guess I shouldn't of had the faith they'd do it right, so I messed up to, which angers me even more that I can't get this fixed because I threw out the receipt like an idiot😵💫 ID like to give 2 1/2 stars as it opened my door so I'm guessing if it would fit all the way into the ignition it would probably start the car. So half their bad, half my bad, but I'm the one who's out over $40 for 3 keys that were buy 2 get 1 free, so that's pretty freaking spendy from the last time I went into a hardware store and had a key cut! Because of this experience using a kiosk to get my keys cut, I wouldn't use it again, nor would I recommend it. There's 3 main reasons. 1. It's over double the price as a hardware store or Walmart. 2. They may cut the wrong size key. 3. The time it took for this process has been at least 2 weeks! It is so much faster and alot more reliable to go get it manually cut by someone! KEEP YOUR RECEIPT!!!
