- FFFAAug 19, 20251.0I called Kauai Air Conditioning to evaluate several split AC units that were not working. They responded quickly to my phone message but set up first evaluation for 3 week later. The technician stated that the first unit needed several parts for repair. However the second unit was working well but undersized for the room. I requested a quote to repair the first unit and another quote to replace the second AC unit and condenser with a larger size. Five weeks later, I received the quote for AC unit repair and never received a quote to upgrade the second unit. I accepted the repair quote and they called another 5 weeks later to arrange the repair. The technician came again to repair the unit however he stayed for only a short time and then abruptly left the house without saying a word to anyone. The AC unit was still not fixed so I called Kauai AC who got in contact with the technician. Apparently he said there was a miscommunication and that he needed to order another part. There was no communication! Another 5 weeks passed, I then received several phone calls from Kauai AC that I owned money for the repair job with nothing said about another visit to actually fix the AC unit. I pay the bill to avoid further problems, but after $800 total and 5 months later, I am back at square one. Fortunately, I was able to get another AC company to replace and upgrade to AC units within 1 month. I do not understand why Kauai AC would refuse to repair an AC unit or even worse to not provide even a quote for new upgraded equipment. I understand some companies like to cherry pick their projects but this was ridiculous. I wonder if the owners of Kauai AC even know what is going on.
