This is a wonderful historic site that relates some stories about Mormon pioneers who were in this area from 1846 to 1852. The visitors center has exhibits and also a short film about the Mormon Battalion, which made the longest ever U.S. Army infantry march -- from this location to San Diego, California. Additionally, there are some bronze cut-out sculptures which tell short stories of the families who stayed behind while their soldiers marched away to serve the country in the Mexican-American War.
