We brought in two items, a shelf and a bedding set, to return/exchange that we had received as gifts. The cashier (Tania based on receipt) had a very rude attitude the entire time we interacted with her. She told us the unopened bedding set couldn’t be returned. We initially took this at face value. She refunded us for the shelf, but she kept our gift receipt for some reason. An hour later my husband decided to call other locations to ask about this, as we had never heard of not being able to return unused bedding. All of the other Jysk locations told us that as long as it was unused/unopened that we could return it. My husband called the Peterborough location and the same woman answered the phone. She tried to tell us that the other locations were wrong and that it was a new policy. We asked to speak to the manager, who confirmed that as long as it was unused/unopened, it could be returned. I am not sure why the cashier was so rude and wanted to deny us the return. My only guess is that she was racist or having a bad day, either way it was uncalled for and unacceptable.
